What do you do the most in on mylot?

I have used mylot off and on the last few years, now I have found that starting topics, are not counted, unless someone responds. For every response you recieve, both you and the responder get a payment from that, to my understanding. I also find that, hot topics, with many responses pays less when you respond to them. Seems that you alos get paid a little higher, if you respond to new posts or posts with no responses. I also understand you get paid more for pictures posted. I don't know much about the blogs yet as I haven't tried that section out yet. So Mylotters, I ask what area's do you tend to use more, that you feel pays the most. I tend to stick to the new and no responses, as will as the photo section. How about you?

I usually focus on making discussion and giving comments to people. I usually made some discussions, and then maintain the discussion so that I would be able to give my respondents some feedback about their response. Or stayed in the 'new' or 'no response' to get to the new discussions to get some new topic. And of course going back to some 'responded' wishing that some topic started has given me the feedback

Well, I don't think that much of the payment. I usually stick to topics I am familiar. Also, I have my own set of favorite topics so I often stick to them as well.

Yes, exactly. I know if I lived in a area, where I was able to work, I would still come here. I can't wait to be able to get back to work, and thankfully I am moving back to the city at the end of the month. Though I know I will still make time for mylot.

Which is very reasonable, money isn;t everything right? I guess with me the pay is only part of the reason I am here like I said earlier, I tend to use mylot alot more when the christmas holidays are getting closer.

i only concentrated on the strategy that i am making based on the TOS that myLot set and i ahven't seen any mention of earning more or less with what you said, unless i have missed something there. so guide me if in case i am and direct me to where it is so i could earn more too. i stick to what i believe get me passed the $1 barrier each day. there were days that i earned $1.29 and $1.06 by just responding and making quality posts with at least 5 or 6 lines. at those times i started a couple of discussions with less or no response at all and no pictures too.

Well, The day I posted the images, that is basically all I had done, besides like a response or two. The next day when I logged in I had over a dollar more then the previous. As for the no responses or Brain busters as they were formally called. That is where I mostly respond to lately and I find I earn more there then the same amount of responses in other areas.

Oh and how I keep track of my postings for the day, is I set a goal for myself when I log in that day. I may go away from mylot through out the day, however I do not log off entirely until I have x ammount of posts I had set myself for that day.

did you really paid much attention with your photo posting here? what i'm trying to say is that, how did you track it that you earned some substantial amount with it and that goes through with the one you called brain buster. i am very much interested with this feasibility and that would make sense to me to see how it goes. lastly, you made sensible points with your explanations in everything you have done.

I just come on line and do whatever. I haven't really taken the time to figure out what pays more, what doesn't pay at all, how many pictures I have uploaded, etc. To me, having to think about things like that bogs me down. I find I respond to more discussions if I don't pay attention to how many responses I make. I am here for a bit of mental stimulation more than anything else. The rest takes care of itself.

It's true, MommaSam, if people would stop paying attention to the earnings or their star number, or how many posts they make, chances are they would do a lot more, ya know?

I agree, often times I have came to topics, that I just cannot answer. Sometimes it is because, I can not understand what the person is trying to say. Other times, its like wow, how does one answer that?
• Canada
14 Sep 08
Yes, I guess it basically boils down to the same rule, for writers, and that is write what you know. If it's something you know little about, how can you give any type of answer. If you can't understand the question they ask, or if they ask no real question how can you answer that? I mean I have seen topics that have been started that even have no ending. They start rambling about something, they don't tell you in the discussion at all, what the suject is and then just end with a ... and expect people to know exactly what they are asking. When I see these type of topics I usually laugh it off and move on with out a response.

I hardly find any criteria there to pay on the discussions and the response you give to the running discussions. I have tried at my level and I find that more posts you made may it be a discussion or response you get more. I have not tried pictures I think you have experience. What type of pictures are liked and paid more. Please detail me I will resort to. However I will now work on your method. Please comment and have a nice day.

Well, like I have said, I haven't "used mylot" for years I have been registered for a few years. Usually my activity has been only really active between september and December. So naturally, I have only recieved two payments, in which I have reached my min. payout.

Well, I find myself posting back to all kinds of discussions, as well as start some New ones in here from time to time as well. I try and respond back to Discussions my friends have started, and my Referrals have started, and then I go looking for other ones. Quite often, I too go to the Discussions with no responses to see how I can help someone out, and often allow myself a better chance for getting chosen for a Best Response as well.

Yes, that seems well organized and planned, good job! I don't do many referrals myself, maybe I should sometime in the future. Usually though my referrals join and never post anything, after that. Best response is always nice to get isn't it?

I am not much good at starting discussions and whenever I did start them I found that I had to go back and comment on all the responses. That takes quite some time so I now concentrate on just reading and responding to discussions. If a topic springs to mind that I would like to know more about, then I will post it but otherwise I will just carry on responding. I think it is much faster and I probably earn a little more.

I am a responder I really don't like to start the discussions all that well but I love to respond to other peopls discussions. I have started a few discussions here and there and one day I did alot of disucssions and you do make more for starting them but only if you get alot of responses.

Interesting. I did notice that payments vary but I never realised that posts earn less when there are lots of people responding. I tend to reply more than I start discussions. My discussions do not get many replies and 3 never got a reply at all. I have only just recently started to keep a record or how many posts I made and how much I made for the day. I was curious to see what my posts were worth. I was surprised when I discovered that 10 posts could be worth more than 20. I did not know why but it could be that the discussions I replied to that day had lots of responses. I have also noticed that the amount you earn changes over time. I mean you might earn 90 cents one day and then a couple of days later that 90 cents is now 93 cents or 94. I have no idea why they adjust it but I know that they say they will. I do try to respond to my friends discussions, although I am not that sure they respond to mine, and I do look for discussions that have no responses because I feel sorry for people who post and get no answers. I know I am always disappointed when my discussions go unanswered. I do not know anything about blogs either. I am not really quite sure what they are. I used to keep a journal once but it is not something I would ever make public. Way too personal.

Yes, it seems to me that maybe. Even if you have a post that has been inactive for a while if someone responds to it, perhaps you still get paid. Like for example, I am soon calling it a night. Though once I am gone for the night my topic is still here. My earnings usually change somewhere between 3 am and 4 am. (I know this because there are times I can sleep and I check mylot.) Say I get 5 more responses, to this topic while I am gone. I come back to check my earnings see the responses, comment back. Then where its sunday I decide, I'm not doing much today, I'm going to do something else. I come back maybe a few hours later or what not, and I have a few more cents added to my earnings. I donno perhaps that is why earnings go up? We already know they go down, if someone posts something against mylot rules. Its just a guess but that maybe part od it.

I agree, I usually only respond to topics myself. I am not to fussy about starting them but do, every now and again. I also enjoy reading them, however I find that, if a response is too long, I tend to lose interest reading it. Which seems funny in a way, because sometimes my own responses are quite wordy. Thank you for your response.
