You know - the thing that pays the rent or the mortgage - the electric & phone bills, puts gas in the car and the bread on the table - the work you collect a "paycheck" for - do you like yours ?
I've been at both ends of the spectrum as far as work goes. For many years I was employed as a Draftsperson - engineering design - for awhile,a few short years,it was fun - I enjoyed it and I made fairly good $$ at it. Then I began to find the "office" environment jam packed full of politics and positively hated my job, good $$, bad fit for me as a job... Now, I'm at the other end of the spectrum - I absolutely love my job - I'm working in a production environment, making truck valves - granted I'm physically exhausted at the end of the day, worn right down as the saying goes and quite frankly (in comparison anyway)the pay sucks - but my blood pressure has returned to a level that does not require medication & I love the work...
So - do you actually "like" you job ?

I love my job... I'm a nurse. I love helping patient, saving lives, bring back the hope that almost lost, things like that... When it comes to salary matters, I'm at a minimum wage but all my salary is for me only. I dont pay any bills, rent and the like but I know in time I will encounter that so I save 50-75% of my salary to my savings... For emergency purposes only... Or I need to buy something... I still live with my parents so as with my older siblings... Here in our country, it's acceptable even if we are in our late, middle or early 20s. And my parents understand our situation, they even encourage us to keep our salary and save them... If we start to save young we can save even more when we are already old... Anyway, my parents still works.

Bravo to you anne12d ! It is great to be happy with what one chooses on the career path - and it is wonderful that where you live, it is perfectly acceptable to remain at home while you get a good start in life. It is becoming more acceptable here in the U.S. with the economy being what it is these days, yet still, so many young people are anxious to be out on their own - and don't wish to wait for a more solid hold on the world.
May your future bring you much happiness and fulfillment !

I love what I'm doing right now. But as a free lancer there are great disadvantages especially in terms of money and security. Right now I still can't have a steady income. And I still can't save up to do my own business and to have some leisure money of my own. I'm a graphic designer/ writer but in my country, doing art isn't that easy thing to earn money from. A lot of hard work sometimes still doesn't pay off. but actually if I'm earning enough I would love my job.

I do like my job. I love it because I get to meet so many different people plus the income is very good. But I have my own homebased business and two books on the market and another just about done....and that's what I really love...so I am working toward the point where I can do my own thing.

Great question there! lol.
There are days where I like mine and days where I don't it use to be that I would look forward to going to work, but that's till the "new" boss (you know who I mean...) Not gonna make another argument but I've had many supervisors and he's not a great one at all, not organized not fair on what people are to do etc. I know it's a hard job even if I haven't been in it before, but when my sister had it she was on top of everything and the person before her, who left to be a stay at home mom... she was great at it, but that's also because they didn't want full reign and they let the bigger boss help with what's needed.
But maybe it will be a little better sooner or later. Right now I'm just less stressed with the less person we have with us. So I can say I'm not pulling my hair out everyday when I get home ;)

Ohhh - you know - in some ways I do "get it"... I didn't know the previous bosses, so in that respect, I don't really have a comparison for the "new" boss where we work !
I can only make the comparison to other positions that I've held myself - and sometimes it just comes down to personality conflicts or even our own perceptions of a person or situation. Oddly enough, I've been in boss change situations at other jobs - and I know what it's like to get a new boss who just doesn't "hold up" to the previous ones. In a word, it - sucks... And it can take the good vibe out of going to work... Perhaps it will help to remember that everything eventually changes - there is nothing as constant as change - and maybe, you will again like your job and going to work - worth hoping for anyway !

not all the people can find a good job they like. because of some kinds of reasons, we must to do the job thta we are not so interest with. we must to live a live so money is very important. i think when people do not need to worry about live and they will choose a job the like. maybe just cooking for their family. but before this we must work to manage it. but sometime that day do not came untill we get old and retire.it is just a joke.

True that not everyone is able to "choose" a work existence that they actually "like" - . In my younger years - I took what work was available, exactly because I needed to support myself, and whether or not I "liked" the work, was not an option. It was only later in my working career, after I had developed a wider variety of skills that I was able to have more of a choice in the matter - that, and changing my own perceptions of what makes me happy.
Than you for adding a different dimension to this conversation - I appreciate your input !

I like my job very much. I work and see to it that I am active the whole day during my work in the office. I like everything about my job. My managers are very good to me, I have nice collegues around me, not only that they pay my salary on time, I am happy and most peaceful only because of my job. Infact my job has changed the way I live. I have had a great change in me ever since I joined this job. I begun spending for myself, saving for myself and much more. I never find my job boring or not interesting. I hope it is the same with many.

I know I said that I'm not cut out for office work - but I truly am glad that some people are !
I'm even happier to know that you love your job - and that you find it gratifying and even peaceful. It's important to be at ease with what we do -
May your career be filled with many Bright Blessings !

I have a love-hate relationship with my job. I'm a call center representative and some days are better than others. The line I'm in right now is actually for a satellite tv company in the US and I am in the billing department. It gets really really crazy sometimes especially when you have irate callers disputing their bills or just generally complaining about them. Some days are really good when I feel that I have completely helped my customers.
These days though, I'm having more than my share of bad days and I am thinking of other means to support myself and my family and trying to see if I could actually live off online or home-based jobs.

I like my job. Even though it sucks sometimes, I still like it. I am at that work for nearly five years now. The work is routine enough for me to do them even if I was blind-folded. It's just the same all over again. They work is easy. The pay is nice enough to pay my bills. Plus the benefits... A pat in the back, sometimes, makes me feel I am still wanted. I "receive" and "issue" items. What's so glorifying about that anyways? Even so, I still like it, cause I meet people. A smile once in a while from them, a sincere and warm "thank you", a burst of laughter from a joke, a little chit-chat, that's what keeps me liking my work.
