I used to have about:blank as my homepage, as that always loads the fastest. However, since I have Firefox (and Opera), I just let my browser retain memory of the last loaded tabs and have those reload the next time I open my browser. It works quite well as I can finish reading any articles I didn't quite complete last time.
What do you have?

I keep startpage.ca as my homepage. This page gives the latest news of the developments in Canada, and also information about the Provinces. Really very informative site about Canada. I like to keep myself updated when I start the internet in the morning.

I have created a simple html file that contain all the sites that I would normally visit, nothing fancy, just plain text link arrange in four columns and categorized like a directory. Since its a local file it load fast and I even set is as my default page every time I open a new tab.
