Have you ever been in an urgent situation - one where you needed an immediate solution? What lengths were you willing to go to in order to solve your problem? Did you pay money to solve your problem? Have you ever been desperate? What desperate situations have you faced?

I am in a desperate situation right now at this point in time. I just got a foster child, on Friday. An infant. Almost a month old. I also have a daughter, who is 3. My pregnant sister in law and her 1 year old live with me. Because she was put out on the streets two weeks ago. Then, Friday evening, around 6 pm, my landlord comes to the door and tells me that he sold the house that we live in, and that we have two weeks to get out. I dont get a paycheck until the 15th of october. I have been calling around to all the agencies, and everything. I just dont even know what else to do. I dont want to lose my foster care license, and I dont want to lose this beautiful little boy I was just given yesterday. So, yes, I have been desperate!

Can your landlord actually force you to vacate in two weeks? Don't you have a lease? I hope something positive comes along to assist you in this predicament.

I was wondering the same thing, about whether or not you had a lease and whether the landlord could legally give you two weeks notice... You would have to dig out your lease and see what it says... If you find yourself in a financial bind, one option - although not the greatest option; nevertheless, it is something if you find yourself in a tight spot - is to check into places that give a "payday advance loan" - places that will give you an advance on your paycheck. The downside of these places is that their loan usually comes at a high rate of interest, so again, you need to watch the terms very carefully. Or, depending on your employer - maybe you would be able to explain your situation - and if your employer is sympathetic, maybe they would give you an advance on your paycheck (or cut you a check for the half of the pay period that you have already worked)? I wish I had a better solution for your situation. Best wishes!
