I told one of my colleague about this wonderful site and he joined it (not my referral). He said that he had got about 85 cents for just 11 posts which left me wide-eyed. When I opened his profile, I found that all his posts were reviews about products and were exact copies from our local technology magazine called IC CHIP.
I felt really annoyed, we, use the power of literature and imagination to find interesting topics and write them brilliantly, and still get paid so less. While this fool, who has no knowledge what literature is, just copies reviews from magazines and is so highly paid. I cannot tolerate it, can you.
So I request all mylotters, to stand up and report this user as abuse and tell them that his topics are exact copies of magazine reviews. I would like myLot to be a clean place where there are only genuine posts, not copies.
His username is www.mylot.com/dhiransh
Please report him as abuse and kick him out of myLot. Also post usernames of people who are doing the same.
Please join me...
AJ Rox.

Umm, I hate to tell you this, but you just busted myLot rules yourself by posting this in an open forum.
If you have a problem with someone you are supposed to take it up with myLot admin by reporting him, not blast them here openly and ask others to do the same.
He's definitely wrong and should be ousted, but give admin time to do their job and not have dozens of other people reporting him too. Admin is bogged down enough and you will only make it worse.

I didn't knew this rule when I was posting this. Now some users responded and told me about this and I just cannot help myself. I would like to delete this topic but I just cannot.
Anyways, it is just a topic to divert the attention of the myLot administration towards that guy and is for a good cause, to make myLot genuine and pure.

Well to be honest I noticed the first user had caught that you had supplied the link to the person. Yes this is a violation, and if you know this then that is great. Also though, asking us to supply usernames will surely get your discussion deleted. Also I must say that I do not know you at all, and therefore you could very well be lying about the amount of money he has made, but more likely it is that he has copied articles from a magazine. If he has done so, proof would have been very nice. A link to the magazines website so that we know it is in fact in existence, and an article to which he has copy written would also be nice.
As it is, I hope that you have a wonderful day.

That is insane. I will most certainly report this. That is a complete and total violation of mylot laws. This place is about creativity and original thought, not about hijacking other people's ideas. This person is going down.

Actually, now that I have read more into this, you can report him yourself because you violated the rules by giving out his profile name and a link to it. That is not right either. I will check out what the other person has posted, and judge this for myself to the best of my ability. You really cannot give out information like that, it is uncalled for.

I think its best to report this user to the administration. I am sure that they will deal with the matter accordingly.

Ok. I did that. His reports seem fake copied and pasted from other reviews.

I have already reported him. But I think that if you report, they will deal with it more seriously.

ajrox1810 if you are so gung ho on the rules you just broke
a co uple. YOu do not post a username id in a discussion as it'is against mylot rules. read the rules. If he plagirized mylot will see it and act accordingly. You reported him so let it be, dont ask us to do this based on your word. You broke the rules here so give it a rest.let mylot take over now. you are not mylot admins or mylot police. mind your own posting as this could get deleted by your naming the user so balantly. I will not post usernames itis against mylot rules. read them again since you are a rule follower

Actually I didn't knew about this rule of not posting the username in a topic, it was by mistake. And don't you want myLot to be clean and original place, cause copied topics can be found anywhere on the Internet.

Well i see no problem in sharing the information from the magazine here unless he infringe any copyright of others after all the information given out is attract us to buy IC chip isn't it ?

The fact is that he is first copying articles and then claims them to be his original.

What you should do first is to write to him and tell him that he has violated copyright infringement and if the lawyers of IC CHIP find out, they will sue him and it will not be for pennies. If he got permission to copy these reviews, it should say at the bottom of each, "copied with permission by XXX" plus underneath the name of the author, the magazine, etc. It is not your place to have him kicked off of mylot. You can however write to mylot itself and explain that he is using copyrighted material without permission.
Then mylot will write to him and tell him to cease.

I have already told him personally but he did nothing but laughed off. When I said that others write their reviews and post themselves, he just said that others are fool and know nothing about business.

Is he citing his sources? Is he giving proper credit? This is important. If he is claiming them as his own he is guilty of copyright violations and mylot should do something about it.
If you suspect he has violated copyright it has to be proved. Without proof mylot is not going to do anything.

No, he is claiming his posts to be his own. That's the biggest problem.

Has he posted the review in verbatim or has used some of the part of the original writeup please first verify it. Using the idea in his own words is no crime. I thing every body get some idea from some thing already. If he has copied and pasted then it is wrong. If has copied and pasted and changed the original a lot what you can say. Please comment and proceed.

No, he has copied the whole without even changing a word.
For example, one of his post called GTA San Andreas goes mobile is an exact copy of the article GTA San Andreas Goes Mobile in the IC CHIP of February 2008 (Gaming Special).

I so agree with you completely AJ. This kind of action is abusing the usage of mylot. Mylot should have post from people who are genuinely here to have a good time and earn a few extra bucks a month. Not people who reap off others work and take credit for it. This is an act of pleagerism and he or she who pledger's another's work can be sentence to imprisonment.

This is actually unfair with the rest of the mylotters. People are working hard mylotting spending time to get some extra dollars, but people like the one you told actually cheat and earn thorugh this system, that is ridiculous. I think if you (ajrox) have any proof of him earning this money you can report it to the mylot team. You can actually scan the pages of that magazine and send the mylot team.

I understand your point, but I think he might be awarded more because Mylot has no way of knowing he copied his post. I agree his behavior should not be tolerated if he is not using his own skills on anything. I am going to review his work, and if I find that most of his work is copied I will report him.

I have to say that looking at his articles, they do not read like a general discussion anyway and they certainly dont read as if they have been written by the same person, so I believe you and I agree this should not be tolerated. However, as for joining a vendetta, I am totally against it. Rules are there fore reasons and there are procedures to follow in ensuring these things dont happen. Pretty much what I am trying to say is ditto, ditto, ditto from all above comments. Sorry.

I am sorry but you have broken mylot rules. If you think this guy has indeed copied some content and not his own original words, you can report him. But to openly put a link on his profile and post it here, will create flame. Despite the fact that you have good intention, please read rules first before you condemned others.
Regarding about this guy and his post. If he claims he got 85cents. I doubt he will get it. Mylot has a way of putting numbers today and decreasing it the next day. It depends on the content of your post. If it generate responses, then he might earns. But who really knows? Unless someone report him, which will be your job. Since it was your words against his.
We cannot report a person if our only reason is because someone said so. I mean, you can't put flame on each mylotters because you think some member is not doing it right and you think its unfair.

I am a newbie. I recently joined Mylot and i am enjoying myself. I respond to a discussion from my heart and i would like to tell u this that u told the site to your colleague not us so u should bother with him not us. How can he be abusing he is using his brains to earn . Sometimes u have to do this way so i tell u, make him understand and he is not abusing in any way u say . I still cant understand if u are jealous of him or not like u working hard and getting low income whereas he getting more income than u. So i would say u get a hang of it and if u have the guts tell him not to that then writing a discussion about him.
Nothing personal and i haven't copied it from a magazine

I don't know about your relationship with this friend, but I would think that you would ask him to stop before you would attack him behind his back. By you doing this I think that you aren't really friends or not very good friends with this person. Personally you need to talk to him first, next if you really have a technology magazine, then you would want to send him a cease and desist order since he would be using copywrited material, just like you can't steal pictures or articals from other magazines and call them your own.
