Today we had the twins birthday party at a place where you paint ceramics. Each child picks out a piece, paints it and gets to keep it as their party favor. They had a good time. What are other good ideas for children's parties?

A miniature golf party or a bowling party might be a fun idea. My brother like to take his daughter to a place called, "You're Fired" where you paint your piece of pottery and they fire it for you. The only problem is you have to go back and get it the next day.

We did a mini golf party for Dearra when we were in LA. Too cold to do that here in December but a bowling party might be fun!

They have an indoor mini golf place in the mall up by my family. It is really dark with just black lights and everything painted with neon paint. It is pretty cool.

Dawn what a neet Idea, I am not very crafty like that, and I always have to research party ideas no matter if its a childs party or an adult dinner party. So glad you had a good time.

From the other responses, it looks like you need ideas for indoor parties. Around here we have some great indoor playplaces where you can rent out the whole thing, or just a room. My favorites include Amazone (http://www.myamazone.com)--they have a playland, plus laser tag & an arcade; Pump it Up (http://www.pumpitupparty.com)--they're a national franchise so there may be one out by you--it's all giant inflatable obstacle courses, bouncers, and such; and Awesome Inflatables (http://www.aifunzone.com). The MyGym near us recently closed, but it's also a national chain, so there may be one by you (http://www.my-gym.com). There's also a playground set showroom that lets you rent the space and the kids can play on all the display models for a few hours. In case you haven't noticed a theme yet, we like to wear our kids out with intense activity at their parties. Bowling, Chuck E Cheeses, and crafts at the local shops (Michael's, JoAnn Etc, and PlayMatters, here). We have an indoor mini golf, too. And Build-A-Bear, if your kids aren't too old for that yet. Good luck planning! Especially for December. Last year we had to cancel my daughter's 4th birthday party (March) due to 3.5 feet of snow in 24 hours--all the roads and businesses were closed.

Snow? What's that? Well seriously it doesn't get that cold here but it's a bit too cold for outdoor parties in December. Thanks for the ideas!

Themed birthday parties are big on the Philippines. I joined an e-group where moms would exchange information on party suppliers like magician-hosts, balloon-decors, cake makers, photographers. We spend as much as 100,000 pesos ($2,000++) on a 1st birthday party. Some of the famous themes lately are cartoon-based or TV program-based themes. Here are some of the common themes: - Disney Cars - Mickey and Minnie Mouse - Care Bears (my daughter is having this) - Hannah Montana - Tinkerbell - Power Puff girls - Disney Princesses - Winnie d Pooh etc. But I also heard other activity parties such as your ceramic painting party. Such as: Decorate your cupcake, Art parties, Bead parties and other craft parties. Some incorporate these activities within a certain theme. Say, make your own jewelry for a Disney Princesses party.

All great ideas. Will be looking for something for my older girl's birthday in December. Too cold here to do anything outside. But she's pretty much past Disney stuff. :-(
