Has it ever happened with you that you watched a much raved about movie and it turned out to be an utter disappointment? Similarly, sometimes it happens that you watch a movie which you think is a bore, but it turns out to be an excitingly good one.Has it happened with you? Do you remember the name of the movie?

There was a movie released in Australia many years ago and for the life of me I cannot remember the name! (Thank God!) It was about two girls in New Zealand and one was ill and was told she had to move to a different country for the warmer climate. She didn't wish to go so her and her firend murdered her Mother. It was based on a true story and received rave reviews but when I went to the movies to see it I was so bored and disliked it so much it was the only time I almost walked out of the movie. I found it absolutely terrible! They kept going in to these day dreaming scenes where all these people were made from clay??? If I remember the name I will repost it.....

Yes, that has definitely happened before. I remember just last week going to the dollar theater and seeing X-Files: I Want to Believe. I thought it would be as good as the first X-Files movie, even though the first movie was ten years ago. I was greatly disappointed. As for being surprised at how good a movie actually turned out... That would probably be when I rented the movie Ulee's Gold. I thought it would be so boring, but it was very engaging.

I know AmbiePam,usually we see that a sequel doesn't turn out to be as good as the first one.It is quite rare. But sequels like Terminater II and Spiderman have really pleasantly prved to be better than their first ones.
I saw a movie 'Vacancy' expecting it be a bore as I had not heard its name before. But it turned out to be one of the most hair raising thrillers that I have ever seen. No ugly blood spilling scenes; just plain simple chilling thrill.
