The star rating represents your 'MyLot reputation'. It is determined, I think, partly (if not completely) by how many people have voted your discussions and responses '+' or '-'.
You will find that many people who have really excellent discussions and responses have a star rating that is less than 10. This is usually because their discussions and responses tend to be more controversial than other people's. Many people don't use the rating buttons in the way they were meant to be used (to rate a response or discussion regardless of whether or not one disagrees with it) and many people who are outspoken get negative ratings as a result.
Because of this abuse of the ratings system by many members, it is wise not to take the star rating too seriously. What matters is the quality and thoughtfulness in your responses and discussions.

It was not my intention to encourage other users to rate me positive. I am eager to learn the key and read what other people's suggestions. Thanks once again.
