Do you feel oppressed?

Oppression is a very strong word which I believe should be reserved for situations like somebody's feet stepping on your face or being caged while only being fed bones and salty water or something very similar. Some people are experiencing this I believe but I don't think it's true for most of us so let me rephrase my question: Do you feel that you are being discriminated against?
Our modern world boasts of knowing better and of learning from its mistakes from the past. I do believe however that there are still people in the nooks and crannies of the continent who are still trapped in the outdated way of thinking that classifies people into what can only be called castes or classes in society. I want to know your story. Do you or did you experience discrimination? Please don't include cases which are clearly logical in nature like being given a D in school because you were late because you attended something religious unless you have expressly advised your teacher that you would indeed be late or that you were not accepted a supervisory position just because you did not graduate unless you really have the skills necessary for the position.
I would welcome any opinions or stories you might want to sure. Thank you.
