I an an avid reader and writer. I was only 10 years old when I read my first Harry Potter book and I was immediately hooked. As years went on I became a crazy fan of the books I actually began to live in the books. I used to wander about daydreaming what if something had not occurred, what if Harry's parents had survived how would the story be then......I finally found the answers I was looking for in fan fiction.
So how many people hear read fan fiction, I hope at least a few do.
I personally read and write fan fiction. At the moment I am writing a Naruto fan fiction.

Some fan fic is really good! I've read a few fan fic stories of different characters in Harry Potter and I was pleasantly surprised at some of the creativity of some writers. It's a way to continue the story and fill in the blanks where the real books left details out. I've even thought of writing some fan fic stories myself. I sometimes have so many questions that I want answers to, if I know there isn't going to be a continuation of the book then I'll make up my own answers.
I think a lot of authors leave out details purposely to get the readers mind working to fill in the blanks. It makes the story much more personal for them. One of these days I still may write my own answers down in a fan fic but for now I enjoy reading what others come up with.

I was wondering weather any people read fan fiction on this site since I posted three days back and there was only one response. Thank god someone shares my interest for fan fictions. I myself write fan fictions. Can you tell me from which site do you read fan fictions.

Hi, I'm a fan of Harry Potter fan fiction, too. I usually ready those that center on Harry and Hermione, either as friends or as a pairing. I read fan fiction of other series, as well, mostly anime. I've tried writing too, though it's been a while since I've had the time to do so.
I think fan fiction is great because it allows us to expand on the original story line and delve into different what-if scenarios. I doubt I'd ever get tired of reading/writing.
Good luck on the stories you are writing.

I read fanfiction and I have no problem seperating the books from the fanfiction. I know I love to think about how the story would have been if I were in it and what I'd do in the same situation. I think almost everyone trys to put themselves in the story often. I also belive that's what makes a story great, is if you can put yourself in the story and stay in the story. And fan fiction only adds to it if it's well written but I get so tired of mary sues. The, too good to be true characters. I refuse to read a story with a Mary Sue in it.

I've read HP fanfiction, and I've even started writing one. Although it's been a while since I've updated it. I like the stories that are Muggle orientated, like Snape falling for a Muggle, or something like that.

I've not read any Harry Potter books. I find the movie pretty amusing though

I can understand what you are trying to say. But, I don't read fan fiction, because I confuse that with the actual story(which is too good to forget). But when I am reading a book again, I will be immersed in it and will feel that my real life is a dream.
