If your state had no sales tax on shopping, would you shop more or less?

Curious to know if you would shop more or less or the same amount if there was no sales tax on shopping. We do not have a sales tax here and people from surrounding states come here and shop a lot, especially during the holidays? Would you do the same?

I would shop the same amount because I tend to buy only what I really need, but if I was living in a state next to yours I would come there and buy all the things I need at once :)
I don't like to pay sales tax because I don't trust governants.

I am in the UK and we have 17.5% VAT on most things. It really makes a lot of things very expensive so if there was no tax on shopping, I'd probably go mad with it for a while and buy loads of stuff! After a while I reckon it would feel normal though and I'd still be after cheaper prices. Some people are never happy! lol

Sales tax should be abolished it is a regressive tax that hurts the lower income more. As for me shopping more I don't pay sales tax because I shop on a military installation.

I'd probably shop the same amount.
But it sure would be a nice little break and to save a bit here and there

What state are you in? Our state likes to add more sales tax to pay for crap like football stadiums. We also have crappy property taxes. We need to do away with all property tax, and keep sales tax to a minimum!
