I have been blonde for the last 2 years, I started off a dark blonde and ended up going to a really light blonde, think there is a picture of me on my profile somewhere with blonde hair.
Well, tis blondie no more. Nope as from yesterday I changed my hair colour and now I have gone a deep dark red colour. I was absolutely bricking it when I did it, I really thought it was going to come out Pink or Orange and I was really delighted when it did not and it took so well.
It suits me too, I do not look as washed out as I did being blonde, the darker colour suits my skin tone more. I shall have to change the pic in my profile now, and get one on there of me with my red hair, will do that in a min I think.
Anyway, enough about me, whats the last really drastic thing you did to yourself and did it turn out to be a good or bad idea?

about four days or so ago.. i was in the middle of a shower, grabbed a pair of scissors and lopped off my used-ta-was waist length locks leaving a pile of hair the size of a small dog laying at the drain. short and pixieish up over my ears with the bangs a bit longer.. drastic?? yeah, i think so. i also like the results.. so imma hafta go with it being a good thing

Hey well done for being brave about dying your hair from blonde to red. Im glad you are pleased with it and that it suits your skin tone better, just goes to show that you wont find out how it looks or if you feel better being that colour unless you do it!!
I have only dyed my hair once and I was scared about doing that as wasnt sure how it would turn out. I did like the colour but it was a reddish brown which I didnt like. It looked nice but I think if Im brave enough to do it again. I'll make sure its a light brown colour as my hair is a mousy brown colour!!
Sometimes I dont like the way a hairdresser has cut my hair especially if I have asked for a certain style and they alter it without telling me.

When it comes to my hair, I am terrible for just doing it. I have been some strange colours as a result!

I think that is what has always put me off dying my hair incase it became an unusual colour or didnt look right. I am very self conscious as it is so if my hair was an unusual colour I would be hiding or walking out with a bag over my head!!!

That can be a major change. Glad it went well. I have gone from having really long hair, to really short. Now I am somewhere in the middle. I haven't gone drastic with color changes yet. I have naturally medium brown hair. Don't know which way I would want to go.

It was pretty major! There are some gorgeous brown colours about, I was considering going a chocolate brown but went red instead.

hi gimini rose red hair souds pretty. the last drastic thing that happened to me was the haircut from hell. she managed to
not only cut it way shorter than I like but one side was quite
a bit longer than the other and looked just plain stupid. I went to Fantastic Sams, but this cut was not fantastic at all, instead
it looked like a drunken hair stylist had cut it or likeit had been done on the day of some national disaster and the stylist
was too upset to know what she was doing. It was a total disaster as far as I was concerned.

That does sound like a disaster, I would have been well pissed if they had done that too me. Thats the sort of thing that stopped me going to the hairdressers for about 8 years or so!

People keep telling me to get my hair cut short, but I know for a fact it will not suit me.

Hi Rose!
I am glad you are happy with your hair :)
I have never colored my hair...The most I have ever done is went from really long hair to chin length hair and I actually like it better chin or shoulder length instead of really long!

Purple!
You are courageous!!
I'd never be able to do anything like that!
Of course a two year old would pick purple

Thanx, I do love it, I showed my daughter two colours (shes two) one was the red one and one was purple, which was gorgeous, she picked the purple one but when I looked at it I could not have it cos my hair was too light. But I think I will try it eventually!

Hi gemini,
wow..that is cool! I will try to check your profile since I am excited to see that changes! Anyway, I have a ligth brown hair and several times before I will change it to dark black and I love it!
The great changes I had maybe when I was younger and since I have a very straight hair, I asked mom to change it and have it curl and I love it but it will not also stay long!

Yeah check it out. I went up town today and nearly everyone I saw had dyed their hair black, guess it must be the new in colour round here.

That is something I would like to do, change my hair color altogether. But I am chicken to do it. I have dyed my hair in the past, well, actually I didn't do it the hairdresser did, and I have never liked the color that was chosen for me. I would like to do something different but I have to like the color. I haven't found that color yet, that suits me. My natural color is a reddish blonde. I have tried to dye it a deep dark red like you, but it makes me look too pale. I have tried a light blonde and didn't like that either, too pale again. So I don't know what color to dye it, maybe I should just get blonde streaks in it, I have done that before and liked it.

Streaks are good if you do not know what colour to go, I have seen some great styles of streaks on girls where I live but it is too much mither for me to keep on top of it.

Hey, I like your new hairdo, it does suit you, however I didn't mind the blond look either. Sometimes I felt a little washed out too when I was blonde, however sometimes I felt fresher when blonde aswell. The main thing that annoyed me about being blonde was it was too much maintence to keep up with the regrowth every 4 weeks and it got quite costly.
My last drastic change was when I was pregnant last year in September when I took the big step after being blonde for about 6 years I decided to go brown again. They say never make big decisions when pregnant as your hormones make you not think straight lol. It took me a long time to being use to being dark again. Then I went black, then got extensions, now going bit lighter again, which I prefer. Pretty happy with my hair colour at the moment, think I might just stay this hair colour for a while, till I get bored next.

How brave of you to try that! And I am so happy it worked out well for you. I have never read done anything drastic except to cut my hair pretty short after having it VERY long for years. It was a shock and I now wear my hair about shoulder length always. The real short was too much for my poor little brain to handle after years of almost waist length hair!

I was not brave, because I am always doing drastic colour changes to my hair, you are brave going short when you have had long hair! My hair is shoulder length and I would never have it cut short, no way would it suit me at all!

You're braver than me gemini! My hair has been really light blonde with different colours through the front (purple for the last few months!!) for ages now! I keep toying with the idea of going darker again as all the bleaching is really damaging my hair, but i just don't dare to do it, i'm worried it won't take because it's been bleached so much already, or that it just won't suit me!! I'm glad you're pleased with your new colour, it sounds really nice, i'll have to go check out your profile and see if you've changed your pic! I think the last drastic thing i did was get a tattoo, but i've done lots of drastic things to my hair in the past, black, blue, red, you name a colour, and my hair has been it! lol xxx

That is great that you decided to change your appearance with your hair, sometimes we all need that. The most drastic change I went through was going from brown to light brown with blonde highlights mixed with light red ones, everyone loved it and it was something different. It made me feel like a whole new me.

hi gemini_rose!
congratulations on successfully taking a big make over step! it takes a lot of courage to do that. you will never know at first if it will look good or not to you. i'm happy for you that it suited you well.
the last drastic thing i did to myself is i got my hair curled last May. i have long straight hair before and i have been wanting to try and have a curly hair since i was in college but i was too hesitant then because it might not look good on me. well last May, i went to a hair salon only wanting a hair cut. i kinda mentioned to the hairstylist that i have been wanting to have a curly hair and he kinda convinced me to do it. at that time i was kinda feeling frustrated over some guy and i thought a total hairstyle change would get his attention. lol so i did it. from long to short, from straight to curly. and thank God it looked okay. i didn't look like a witch as i have thought before.

I say, Good for you, gemini! I have never been one to hold back whne I want to make a change and I don't know why so many people do. Most of the time a change can work miracles. You actually see yourself in a whole new light. I'm glad that your change of hair color worked out the way you desired. I have not made any drastic changes in a long time but I have been playing with the idea of cutting my hair. My family is against it, but, hey, it's my hair!

I used to think about hair whenever I want change in my life. These days I just change my mind and change my outlook and attitude towards life. I am happier and more in tune with the world around me now.

I think the last major appearance change I made would have to be that I went from jeans to slacks and a nice shirt. I grew up a little bit and realized I had to act like it, and I would have to say that my love life has increased a little bit.
