Do we have any alterntives for oil?

What if all oil producing countries will stop exporting their oil? What if all oil producing countries are out of oil? What will happen to other countries? Do we have any alternatives for oils? We all know that oil is very important for us in many ways...so as early as now let us think about this...

Well I think they would not do that at all. Oil is their lifeline their economy would definitely go down once they keep their oil to themselves. If we look at Saudi it is their only source of income and keeping oil to themselves would just make their economy go down as well. Alternatives for it is still being studied at the moment. There are this biofuels that are being used nowadays although its production cannot meet the demands of the world but it somehow could slow down the consumption of fossil fuels. There are also being under study the use of Solar, wind and wave as an alternative source of energy but all of these are not enough if you would compare it to our needs which solely depend on fossil fuels.

hi! Thank you for the reply....I am currently working in Saudi Arabia...the cost of gasoline here per liter is 2 riyal or lower than that...while other countries are suffering from the high cost oil...i don't know why...if we have oil reserves howcome this dilemma arise....

Of course the cost of oil there is cheap because that is the source of oil. But once it is sold by Saudi then the price would definitely go up higher as there are additional cost like transport and many other expenses incurred. If you're a business man you buy oil from Saudi at cost you would not sell that at cost to right. You will need to mark it up to earn something from it.

There is always a way. Big money controls things more than you realize. Oil is BIG MONEY! Did you know that chevron hit an oil strike in the gulf of mexico that is supposed to be bigger than all of saudi arabia? Hmmmmm??? How can there be a shortage? I just hope the earth can handle the pollution from it all. It would be a good thing if we did run out of oil. We would all breathe easier.

There are many alternatives. We just have to make them cost-effective. Once we do that, we dould probably get the OPEC countries out of our lives forever, and we'd be so much better off!

i think if genius people can invent something that we can use as alternative to oil, maybe there will be... maybe we can use water instead.
