Tonight was the 2nd episode of HBO's "True Blood". I watched it last week and this to see if I like it. So far, it seems pretty cool.
At first glance, it looks like it's about Vampires, but it seems to me like it's more about societies strong desire to block out anyone who's different. I think this show has great potential and so far I've thought it's pretty enthralling.
Have you seen the show yet? If so, what do you think?

I really like this show. I like how the show is set in the south where racism was(is?) really strong and the vampires just want to be treated fairly. I hope it get's picked up for a second season.

I thought that was pretty cool too. It's kinda of about racism, not vampires.

well I still haven't yet read the first book. But from how I interpret the show is racism against vampires.

Back on the topic of the thread - True Blood - I saw eps 1 and 2 and thoroughly enjoyed them. The only problem I have is that the past two eps have ended with a Sookie's In Danger cliffhanger. I think it's a cheap device. The show is entertaining and interesting enough that they don't need to "hook" m e for next week with a cliffhanger.
I like all of the characters. They are quirky and there's a good deal of humor in the show. All-in-all I'm enjoying the hell out of this show. :)

Well, this week they didn't really leave her in danger, but it's still exciting. I know what you mean though. I think because she's the main "mortal" character they had to do that the first week. The second week he made the comment that he'll always be able to protect her faster now kinda led into that ending. I'm glad they're not doing it all the time though!

I haven't seen it but wish I could. I am too cheap to pay for HBO though. Have you read the books?

My husband always wants us to cancel HBO because it's expensive, but I like watching the shows on it sometimes.
I didn't know there were books about True Blood. I was under the impression that it was an HBO Original Series. I have read SOME vampire books by different authors, but I've never heard of any called True Blood...

I LOVE True Blood! Now I want to go buy the books and ready them. Have you been to the True Blood Wiki website yet? It's pretty cool and they have a good amount of spoilers if your into seeing where the show is heading. But I guess if you have read the books you pretty much know where the show is heading anyhow. I can't wait til Sunday's now because of this show!

Hmm... You're the 2nd person that's said something about there being books for this. I've never heard of it before and now I'm not sure if I want to read them or not. I really enjoy the show and reading the books might take a bit of the suspense out of it for me.
Sundays are good HBO days again!
