Hello friends, I happened to have read about the information about "Life Expectancy for Countries" while I was pickjacking this morning, Sep 15th, 2008. I am interested to know that the life expectancy of my country, China, is 72.88, while the people in Andorra enjoy the longest life expectancy, which is 83.52. I am not sure if you are interested in getting to know about it. Here is the link for you to get more information. http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0934746.html Good day, friends. Love from williamjisir.

Hi Willima Thanks for the link. I was reading through it to stumble on some amazing facts. The native of Africa indeed lead a terrible life and that explains the low expectancy rate. Indians have an expectancy of 68.59. I thought it would be higher but certainly the quality of living is deteriorating and so is the life span. But here I find a country called WORLD where the life expectancy is showing 65.82. What's that, could you explain?

Good evening, my dear friend mimpi. Well, I think that WORLD probably means the average life span of the whole world. I guess that it could mean so. Do you agree, mimpi? Good day to you.

I am happy to know that you have found the information about life expectancy in your country. It is not bad to have the expectancy of more than 77, which is longer than that of our country. Take care, friend.

I think in India its about 70years. With improvements in medicine and food habits, people usually enjoy a long life. Personally though, I would like to call it a day between 60 to 65 yrs.

Hi dear jisir, I notice that you have two discussions of same topic and I pick the one with more responses to answer. Frankly speaking before visiting the infoplease site where I could check the Life Expectancy for Countries, I actually don’t have any knowledge about the life expectancy in my country. Thanks for sharing such valuable and interesting information here and now I finally know the life expectancy of my country and it is 72.76. Congrats my dear friend for the people in your country could live longer life than that in my place . Anyway I would feel content with that in my country if compare with those lower ones. posting and take care.

really? In my country, the Philippines, I've read that our life expectancy here dropped big time compare to the last decade I'm not sure with the stats but I think our life expectancy is about 65 years old or less. It is seemingly alarming why the sudden drop of life expectancy here. One factor wold be the deterioration of the environment caused by pollution. In effect lots of people die here because of Lung Cancer and Heart disease, the number 1 and 2 causes of deaths in the Philippines. Another factor and probably the most obvious factor is poverty. Because of poverty, many have neglected their health because they don't have the access for health care and medicine and it is very blatant but true that some couldn't even feed themselves what more buying medicines? And instead of intaking healthy food, many replaced these foods on their daily diet with a lot cheaper but less expensive alternatives such as instant noodles and sometimes salt!!! yes salt! I think it's not a good sign for my country. I hope something could change this problem

Hello geekyjock. So from the analysis you have made, I think that the government needs to pay more attention to the public health investment of the people to make some improvement for the good of the people. In fact, it is the same in our country. There is still much waiting to be improved in our country although our government has been trying to improve it. I have confidence in our government and believe that the life expectancy will increase as time goes by. Take care, my dear friend.

Excelent thread! I just looked... the UK is 78 years old. Not bad. I'm a smoker though so who knows. I thought something about the ages we all grow to recently. We are only recently (last 150 years) starting to live a longer life and the average life keeps growing (at least where i am). We are the luckiest people around don't you think? We have so much longer to learn and then pass our knowledge down. Perhaps that is why our civilizations are advancing (if only technologically and possibly also spiritually) so fast.

Hello classbhero. Yeah, I feel lucky to be able to live at a stage of great civilization with so much knowledge down. Enjoy your life and take care, dear friend.

78 years, it's gone up a bit since I last checked it (a couple years ago). I'm an American, and I know we've got super unhealthy habits and all that for a good percentage of our population, so I suppose 78 years is a decent life expectancy.
