have you ever read a bestseller book but find it not so interesting or wondering how it became bestseller?

Bestsellers are just like its label "bestseller". Yes, I know it sounds vague and lame, but what I'm getting at is the reason it became popular is through recommendations or something similar, so it gets pass through and people actually buys it, it hits the list. But it doesn't mean it's the best book with the best plot or whatever. It might be because you trust that certain person who recommended it to you or maybe you have similar tastes in the past and would give it a go for this next one, but it might turn out totally diferent. The bottom-line is people buy books through some link such as that and will unintentionally help that particular book become a "bestseller".

I'm not positive, but I believe one of the worst books I ever read was a best seller. It was White Oleander by Janet Fitch (if I have the author's name correct). I read it because my coworker recommended it, and I hated it.
