Ever feel like your working your life away? Its like lately its all hit me, like time is just blowing by, day by day so very fast. It kind of hurts if you really think about it, I feel like I'm missing out on so much. What do you do to get over a slump like this?

I feel like I'm working fruitlessly, gearing towards nothingness. I am 27, I finished my 5-year engineering course at the age of 20. I graduated top of my class, a CumLaude for pete's sake! And now, I'm still an ordinary employee, with no achievement whatsoever that I can say I am proud of. My parents think I'm worthless as well after jumping from one work to another due to my personal and marital problems. My life is going to the drain. Life hasn't been kind to me though I felt like I'm working hard all my life.
I'm not sure I can give you an advice, nothing has worked for me. Well, reading a book may work, I can forget everything while absorbed on other people's story but after I'm done with it. I'm back to reality. But hey! At least I can be "worry-free" for a couple of hours right? That's better than nothing.

I've been in the same slump you are for the past couple months now. The job I work, you do not need a degree to get hired in, and I have a Bachelor's degree so I feel like I'm wasting time here and wasting my degree. I am working in the same realm as what I want to work in, so I look at it as a foot in the door but it sure is discouraging when there are people 4 or 5 years younger than me fresh out of high school as my colleagues.
When I get in slumps like this I try to think positive and know that with time I will be where I want to be. The worst thing to do is think negative. It's hard not to at times, but if you can try not to do it often you should be good. A lot of times I will get together with friends, or my boyfriend and just go out and have fun, try to put my "work" aspect of my life aside for awhile. This usually works until the next time I have to go back into work. lol
Just keep your head up! Don't get discouraged!
Happy my lotting!

Its inevitaible that we are going to have to have some pain and suffering in our lives. Its actually the way it is supposed to be.
Yes I think about it. Some days you just feel completely beat up, like what really matters, why am I here. And yes the time factor. It is so fast zips right past you. Your doing what the guy upstairs wants you to do. But you can take all of the frustration hurt confusion and offer it up. Thats what i do. I also remember that the Good Lord never gave me something I couldnt handle and that He wouldn t walk right next to me while i walk through it
