As a blogger, we would want to have both of them. But what if you have only to choose one, which will you choose? Of course, this is assuming that the comments are not spam and your subscribers counter is accurate. Before you answer that, let me brief you with some of their advantages and disadvantages. More subscribers 1.0 Advertisers prefer blogs with more subscribers so monetizing your blog is easier. 2.0 You have a lot consistent followers which indicates you have a powerful blog. 3.0 Too many comments are hard to manage and can distract you while preparing for your next post. More commentators 1.0 Your posts are very interesting and you are a sociable blogger, which means it is easier for you to increase your traffic. 2.0 It increases your back link which can lead you to a higher PR. 3.0 You can learn from the comments and be able to find clues for your next posts. There may be other aspects but for now, which do you prefer and why?

hello friend, i would choose more number of commentators. I have got a lot of reasons for this and which are as follows: 1. a greater number of comments means that there a are a greater number of people who are reading your posts and do have their own recommendations and usefull stuff. 2. having more comments means an increase in your page rank and this indirectly links to more income for you.and even if you don't blog for money than you will be satisfied with what people are telling you about it. 3. comments show your true subscribers. i mean those who arewillingly involved with your blog. and as far as subscribers are concerned they are those who come to your blog once in a while and are not that important as the comments. i dont mean to say that i dont want any subscribers for my blog though. the more comments the more you have true subscribers. thats what i believe.

I would prefer more subscribers. That's because they subscribe because they want to read what i'm writing and read what i'm posting. They wanted to be updated with what i'm blogging about and that can make a blogger very happy. For comments, even though they are not spam, commenters, sometimes have hidden agendas, comment to be commented back, leave a link, to be linked by a high PR blog. But that's ok for me, i still like many subscribers. :)

I agree with you. I have been receiving a lot of short comments and you check their link I realized that all they want is link. But I do not mind, they are inbound links anyway.

I prefer subscribers, as they are loyal to the content of the blogs. Most of the commentators, like to have their blogs linked to your popular blog, so as to get into the limelight. Increasing popularity through subscribers will bring more readers to your blog as they will always be happy to recommend a good blog to their friends and relatives. Commentators will just put their comment and go. On a final weightage, subscribers will help you more. I don't know about your experience.

Thanks for the fast response. I think I was too excited not to include my choice as this is my first discussion I ever posted here. Anyway, I prefer more commentators although I think I have more subscribers especially on my older blogs. This is because they are the ones who really reading my posts and finding them interesting. After all, some of them admit that they convert themselves into subscribers so they won't miss my next posts. On the other hand, I know that subscribers can help our blogs to be popular. But then, they may be too busy with other things and seldom check their mails. One of my subscribers confessed that he is among them. Lastly, my commentators are motivating me do better posts especially the inspiring ones. You're right, there are some of them who are trying to be nice, but all they want is a link to my blog and free promotion. That is why I moderate them and if I feel that they are only after self-promotion I delete them. I seldom do this though.

Can't I select the two? . I would like more readers but I would like also many commenters, this means they're really reading my posts. But what counts is that you enjoy what you're doing whether you have many readers or many commenters. Happiness and contentment are choices. I'm happy blogging. All the best to you and contgats on a very successful blog. You can place a link from here to your blogs. Cheers!

I would prefer to have more people comment about my blog's content rather than having a lot of people subscribing to my feeds. With comments, at least, I get to really see that they are really reading through my blog. Sometimes, a really good and "meaty" comment (not the usual "hey, great site!") could make my day.

i guess subscribers. subscribers means u have a fan club because others r interested in ur work and u r entertaining. commentators can be just passerby people who r not really interesting, but just stopping by to say hi like acquaintances.
