my favourite player of all time has got to be ZIDANE! He's simply amazing. Accurate passes, excellent vision and very impressive dribbling skills. It's really a pity that he ended his career with a red card ( for headbutting! ) at the 2006 world cup. And he should have play for at least another 2 yrs ( he retired at 34 yrs old ). Even his former teamate luis figo is still playing at inter milan at age of 36!
anyway, ZIDANE IS THE BEST!

Mine favourite soccer player initially was also David Beckham! His free kicks are mind blowing! I remember watching the Taiwan news talking about David Beckham scoring a free kick in the 2006 World Cup, saying that it was GPS-guided! That was how deadly he was. He is a player that can change the game in a moment of brilliance, and also a good team captain with a friendly personality.
But my favourite soccer player now is Michael Owen. It was incredible seeing Michael Owen in Real Madrid. Although he was mostly on the bench, he would surely score when he was substituted, and hence the name 'Super Sub'. It is also inspiring to see how Michael Owen suffer setbacks after setbacks. His body, especially his leg, must be full of injuires. Even though he has lost his pace, he is still an inspiration in Newcastle. Just like what a commentator said on the match between Newcastle vs Hull City, everytime Michael Owen touches the ball, anything can happen. No doubt, he managed to create chances out of the blue. I do hope that he managed to stay form and hopefully, be the number one striker in England.

Marco Van Basten as a striker - the most natural predator I have ever seen play the game, scoring with either foot or his head, tap ins and long distance shots.
Best defender I have ever seen play thegame was Franco baresi, never seen anyone able to control the game from the back with such authority

I had a school mate. He is very good soccer player and he plays the imp position in centre. He is so short and hailed from middle class family. he devoted his much time in sports and made himself in the part of the university team. I admired him a lot during my school days.
Thou he may not be known to all but few knows about him !! I am happy to say him as SOCCER PLAYER.

by the way, the best freekick taker is Juninho of Lyon...
just that he is not as famous as Beckham...
don't get me wrong, Beckham's freekock is excellent, but Juninho's freekick is godlike!
