I was a Girl guide, now the Girl guides were founded many years ago by Lord Baden Powell. They are a UK thing I believe, unless someone can tell me different.Well most of us as children wanted to belong to an organisation of some kind,be it the girls or boys brigade, the scouts, the rangers, the air cadets.Oh I could go on endlessly ,but I wont bore you anymore. But I would like to know were you in any of these organisations as a child???..and were you good at any one thing in particular?..MAYBE FIRELIGHTING OR MAP READING??oopsie that caps key again...

HEHE not a member of any thing as good as the Girl guides or the boys brigade LOL,but when we were in school we had a gang,it was called the Stuart Wheeler gang, and lol we all had little membership cards, and every week we paid subs(subsciptions)well the only criteria for this gang was a bike,if you didnt have a bicycle then you couldnt be a member, the gang lasted for ages,we were all good pals.If Mum could have afforded the guides uniforms then we might have been in the guides.

Hi there ruby222
Well I was a Brownie for quite a while until I lost my badge and my parents told me I had to find it and wouldn't pay for a new one and they told me I had to buy a new one so I didn't go for a couple of weeks or so and lost interest and left. Then I joined cubs My mum was an Akeala and the boys in class went so I went with my mum and she let me join in. Then I joined Sea Cadets when I was old enough and loved it so much. I then fell out with some girls there and they made me feel so uncomfortable that I didn't want to go anymore and I was afraid they were goning to beat me up. My 2 eldest boys go to Boys Brigade as they are not old enough for cubs just yet. The problem is that cubs is on the same night as Boys Brigade and I really want my eldest to go to cubs but if it was on a different night then he could make the choice himself of which he wants to do.

Well I don't think I would put myself in the same category as Mr Ruby!!!! So what is the Brownie uniform like now? We don't have any Brownie's where I live. I remember those old uniforms hahaha. I was lucky that my mother never bought me the summer camping one with the bright yellow t-shirt and brown shorts.

I am a Girl Guide leader in Ontario Canada. I have only been a leader for 2 years, but I was a brownie and Guide when I was growing up. My sister was also in Guides and Brownies and my borther was a Boy Scout. My absolute favorite thing to do was camping. Now that I am a leader I get to share all the things I learned with our girls. We have been teaching them a lot of out door cooking and it was really fun.
My daughter has been in Sparks, moved on to brownies and is now a Guide. My son was in Scouts for a year, but sadly they lost all their leaders.

Hi there! I am a Girls Brigade member from Malaysia. I started as a girl (ordinary member) and now i am an officer in it. I'm a Warrant Officer in my company. I manage to get my Pioneer Pins two years ago when I'm 20. And i hope i can work for my Queen's pin. I'm still considering for it because it will takes me a long time and commitment to do it.
