Founding member of Pink Floyd died today, September 15 2008. Pink Floyd's spokesman Doug Wright (who is not related to the artist) said Wright died after a battle with cancer at his home in Britain. He says the band member's family did not want to give more details about his death. He was 65.
May he rest in peace!

Richard Wright and the other members of Pink Floyd helped shape a great portion of my life. There was a time during my teen years, that I was lost and confused and basically just wanted to end it. One day I listened to "Dark Side of the Moon", and the beautiful music just put all that stuff into perspective. I have been a Floyd fan ever since.
RIP Richard Wright....may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Indeed Pink Floyd's visions had a great impact on many souls around the world, as they take on aspects of both internal and external experiences in their songs. For me it was "The Wall" that influenced most, as they pro eminently shape an entire life of a misunderstood artist, to which I got to identify. But all their work is a tremendous contribution to art, and in my opinion the greatest psychedelic rock band ever.
