How can I remove smudges from my books???

I have books I have read over and over again, and lent out, and they are stained, smudged. Coffee, soil, food, whatever. And, they sometimes embarass, like recently I lent out a book (The Great Gatsby)to this drop-dead-gorgeous chic and she was commenting about the smudges. Thing is, is there any effective way of making them clean again?

You need an eraser and a brush. Remove the smudges on the book with a white eraser. You can remove the eraser dust by brush. Make sure that both the eraser and the brush are clean before applying.
