How many PTC sites should you join at one time?

I am new to PTC and have registered with around twelve sites. I know I made a mistake because not it is really hard to do a referral exchange since I have joined so many.
I think you should join only 3 and try to get as many referrals as possible.

Referrals will not only come from here on MyLot.
You can make a blog and promote it
Or you can join a site like Adboardz (link in my profile) and promote up to 10 sites with one page there for free.
