Internet Explorer shutting down

Has anyone else had problems with IE shutting down on them lately? I've had to quit using IE all together because I can't get it to stay up. I can surf a couple of pages and then it will either give me a message that an error has occured and it needs to restart or it will just shut down automatically. It doesn't matter what website I'm on.
I've just had to start using old reliable Firefox. I'm just wondering if anyone else has been having issues with IE.

My first thought is to wonder whether you are using Vista or XP and whether you have recently added the latest Service Pack, particularly SP3 for XP.
I am still hearing rumblings from those in the know about SP3. They are mostly to do with driver incompatibilities which are not Microshaft's concern, admittedly, but you never know.
I always use Firefox, anyway, and rarely open IE, so I haven't experienced any such problems. FF also has errors from time to time and they tend to be related to things that certain web pages try to do to the browser. These errors only happen about once a week, however, if that and they don't sound as severe as yours.

I had this happen regularly, at least once a day, for the last couple of years. Part of the problem is when more than one window is open, but there seems to be some sort of bug in it. Since hubby installed Firefox I never had a problem. Go figure!
