I have thought of buying a personal laptop in the next few months. My siblings suggested that I should get good specs so I may not have a problem someday. I thought of getting an ACER but both of them suggested that I better get an ASUS Brand. Is ASUS a better choice? Any suggestions you can share? :) Be waiting for your responses.

I think Acer is a safe bet. I'm not so sure about ASUS, although their EE PC seems to be doing well. y friend has one and it's really handy to take along anywhere. It's not that expensive as well, but if you have a lot of things going on then you might need to carry around an external memory drive. I myself use a TOSHIBA laptop. It's sleek and functional. A little heavy even for a 13 inch notebook but I don't carry it around anyway. :)

Toshiba is also a great choice but the Toshiba brand that I like is somewhat expensive, lol!:) about ASUS EEEPC, my sister has one. It's doing well too but with what I should be doing in a laptop, am still keeping an eye over some specs that aren't found in an ASUS EEEPC.

well it honestly depends on the kind of things your goin to be doing on it. like say you just a computer to watch youtube or listen to music. youd want one thing but if you were realy into downloading tons of information a day and playing high end games you might want something completely different. same goes with an intel bassed cpu vs an amd cpu. a good place to upgrade parts to is www.newegg.com if you havnt heard about them.

The laptop will be for my personal use which is intended for surfing, watching movies, and listening to music. Not really much into playing games. :) Thanks for reminding me what things I should be doin about it.

I have never owned an ASUS myself, but I have a friend of mine which has one. And I have tried it. It's pretty robust to describe it in a single word. It was a gaming laptop xD, so yeah it's performance was top notch. Ran most of the new games smoothly, so that means it has no troubles running most essential programs.
As for quality build, for the small time I used it it felt really good and made from good quality materials. My friend still has the laptop, he got it like 3 or 4 months ago, and its still fast and smooth. We sometimes do lan parties so I can assure that all I am saying is true xD. But that being said, I recommend going to a store and trying yourself one from the showcase or stand. Some stores let you do that =).
