How to improve english listening skill

I am a chinese, but I must improve my english level because I serve for a foreign company. I think writing is not so hard, because even if there are many errors in the sentences, the native speaker can understand what I mean. But listening is a big problem, because if I can't understand what he said, I can't talk with him. So, please give me some suggestions on how to improve english listening skill, Thank you all of you!

Hi siuloong,nice to meet you in mylot~`as well,Im a Chinese.My situation here is just on the opposite side of you.I found listening and speaking are not some big problem for me but writing....coz I need to write some formal articles/reports very frequency.I think it is a good way to improve the listening skill by watching movies and listening music,of course I mean the original version--English dialogue,subtitle!It works on me!~! Have a nice day!

Thank you very much! Maybe someday I will also find listening and speaking are not big problem for me but writing:), because now I am only in a primary stage of english.

well, you shoold watch american movies. there are dvds that have subtitles. see if what you hear is right. just match them with the subtitle.good luck. i like how you write.you write English well.

Thank you very much! Watching some movies is a good suggestion. But I think it should be a good choice when my listening skill access to a certain level. But now I am a beginner, so I think It maybe a waste of time to watch movies. Thank you!

actually listening is called adeveloped skill while writing is learned skill. best way to listen effectively is try to listen to different accents with attention. then what is necessary that always speak slowly in clear words. while listening try to listen with all aatention and then make eye contact.,

Yes, you are right, listening skill is a developed skill. I think the largest obstacle in the way of improving my listening skill is my less attention. I am easy to think other things when I listen to a topic:(

it is necessary to listen carefully. first if all concentrate. people nfrom different countries have different accents. so its not possible always to listen and understand easily. still try the best.

the best way to learn listening skills for english language is take a few decent english movies and listen to them properly. you can also start watching english news channels or programmes.try and be present where ever there are lectures or presentations held in english as that mite also allow you to listen and understand preoperly. take the english movies having the titles written in english beneath the screen...this would help you to correct urself..likeif u heard it wrongly you immmediatley able to correct ur listening there itsel...hope this helps you...dont run but try and make a difference...all the best

But if looking movies with written english, I will pay more attention to the written english but listening:)
