How many of you here play computer games? I do have a few questions to ask about computer games here and I hope that you could participate in this discussion. Do you think that computer games are only for those of certain ages? Do you think that adults, for example above 40 years old should not play computer games? If yes, what would the suitable age for playing computer games be? What type of computer games that you like to play? Do you go for role playing games or the first shooter type of game? Do you like adventure or those type of games where you have to solve riddles? Do you think that the games that you like to play reflect your personality? How many hours do you spend playing games on your computer? Has it ever occurred to you that you neglected everything else when you were totally engrossed with your game? Do you think that computer games should be regulated as some of the games promotes crimes, racism, and some other bad behaviors that we should not have in our society? lastly, if you have a child, would you introduce him or her to computer games? Do you think that computer games would stimulate his growth or otherwise. Thanks for reading this discussion and I am looking forward to your responses so that we can learn some valuable lessons from each other. Cheers!

no, not really..i have known people who are playing computer games even if they had a children..like 40 yrs old..but still playing counter strike, ragnarok online, ran online, sort of that games..also my father play computer games also..but that's only a family computer..he likes playing twin bee and battle city..but that's a long time ago..when he was 40 yrs..suitable games for an oldies??hmm..its your choice..whether you want to play an online games, or maybe games like scrabble, alien shooter, counter strike, air strike its like a 3D game..you can play it..actually i like adventure games..like suikoden, final fantasy, it depends on me on how many hours i'm going to play a game..it has occurred to me that i forgot to eat my breakfast and my lunch also..hehe..maybe it reflects to its personality..maybe if i have a child i will discipline him or her to be addicted to pc games or any games..but to limit their game hour..maybe 1 hour or 2 hours..

I play computer games.I say everyone have the right to play computer games. Playing too much computer games can affect one's social life. So it is good to play in moderation.

Ya i do play computer games. I play any game that i am interested with example shooting type games like counter strike, role play game like God of war, strategies game like red alert and also games war craft. I think games can be played by anyone in any age. When i was a kids i do love my dad to play games with me. Mostly nowadays i spend whole day playing game like dota. Have you heard about it?? Sometimes i admit it do makes me lazy to study and i seriously think that by playing game i can learn alot of thing and words, spelling and so on. I will allow my kids to play games in the future but I'll control them like 2 hour for playing games per day and on weekend.Hope this helps you.

Interesting questions. I do not play a lot of computer games usually except things like Wordzap, Boggle or other word games which I would play anytime I feel like it because I don't see them as being addictive in the way other games can be. Most times if I find a new game that catches my attention, I would play it for a while but when I've either achieved what I wanted to in the game, or decided I'll never be good at it, I usually stop playing that particular game. I have no idea how much time I spend, but it's probably less than one hr a week. I do agree that someone can neglect everything else when they are caught up in a game. It's an ageist sentiment to say that someone older than a certain age shouldn't play, so I would have to disagree with that. Of course I believe most 40-yr old people do find a lot more ways to occupy their time, but for those who don't why not a computer game? I guess personality may be reflected in the games one chooses to play. The subject of regulation is intriguing. On the one hand, people should be free to choose what game they play, but games that promote illegal or immoral behaviour are probably a hazard to society (I have no evidence, this is just my opinion) so I guess I would say yes to some kind of regulation, but who knows if that is even possible. People can always find ways to get around the law! I definitely would introduce a child to computer games, just not the typical "eyes-glazed over" kind that don't really teach any skills. There are some educational programs that are designed as games, and those are the ones that I would choose to introduce to a child. I may throw in one just for fun, but limit the amount of time spent with it.

I do play computer games, but as far as im concerned their is no age bar for people playing computer games. It gives them the mental strength to achieve that goal in their life.Playing computer games, hone your thinking ability to a great deal.It dosent mean that one should always sit before the computer, spent at least a hour that will be good for your brain. As we know "Too much of anything will be good for nothing",dont make your brain rust by sitting before computer games for hours.Play it when you really feel bored of other works.Thank you

I play computer games. My favorites are usually role-playing games. Well I think age doesn't matter when playing games because no matter what your age is, as long as you enjoy playing it, its ok. I also like games that doesn't take much of my time to play. I don't really put much time in playing games but I play from time to time. I personally don't like games such as crimes, racism etc. I'm more into the fantasy/magic type of games. I also do believe that games can also help us in many ways. Entertainment is one reason I play games, it could also help relieve stress. Some games also help in improving your reflexes. Some also improve critical thinking and strategy. Overall games aren't just for play and wasting your time. You could also learn many things. Some people even earn from playing games in competitions etc. :)
