The next election day here in the Philippines is fast approaching. It will be on year 2010 when we will be allowed to choose again our next President. US will also be having it's election much sooner. As for me, I am very eager to vote since I have not experienced voting yet. News are spreading that finally, our voting system will be upgraded using the automated kind of system just like on America. Have you voted before? Is the election community in your country good? Are you also excited to vote?

McCain and Obama - Lesser of two evils? I don't know.
I'm not excited to vote this year because I am not a strong advocate of either of the two main candidates. I simply don't feel either is a great match to lead our country for different reasons. I have yet to make up my mind whom to vote for and I know that, whatever happens, we will always wonder what if the other had won. However, voting is a privilege that I take seriously and I will be at the polls and I will vote. Between now and November when we vote, I will watch all I can of the two candidates, read as much as possible, learn about their running mates and make a choice that I feel is best for America. Although I know my one vote won't change things, I have been given a voice and I intend to use it. But I'm not excited. I'm actually a little worried about the future right now.

Well, you have a right to be worried since Presidency in the US is a very tough spot to be decided on. As far as I know, the President in your country is one of the most powerful and influential person in the whole world so everyone in your country should really take it seriously. I hope that all of the US Citizens will make a right choice on this coming election since somehow the Philippines is being affected by anyone who will take that position.

Hi there marisriel! I am NOT excited about the 2010 elections. I am NOT excited to vote. I don't see anything really exciting about it. There's nothing much to look forward to when it comes to politics here in the Philippines. Since I started exercising my right to suffrage since 1998, I have never really been happy about the results of the elections.

Well, I never said I am not going to vote and exercise my obligation as a citizen of this country. I just said that I am not excited to vote.

Hi, I understand your sentiments. It's really hard for most Filipinos to think that our system can still change. Sad but true. However, don't you think that we are still under the obligation to vote as a citizen of our country. And what will happen to our country if none of us will be courageous enough to take the risk of trusting anyone again to lead our country? I respect your opinion but for me, the only chance that we can give our nation is by thinking and choosing the best person that you think is really fit to be the next President. If you do that for any other reason, it will be better for you really not to vote.

I am really excited to vote but then i guess in my life time as of now I have voted only once when i was in the tweleth grade and after that I havent voted. It is fun actually and you can actually select whom you wont to vote. But out here in India if you need to vote we need to have the Election Id which as of now after marriage we havent applied and I still feel guilty that one vote of mine is lost as so many people could misuse it. Regards

Haha, yes, I forgot, I also have voted before more than once, in school. Yes, I agree, it's exciting on election days. And oh, I remember, I have also campaigned and has been elected before when I was on high school as spokesperson of the student council. But on a national election, I have not experienced voting before. I have also heard that we are going to use a National ID. We also have the Voter's ID same as in your ID but the National ID is a digital one and I don't have a clear idea of it except that it is more technical as they say.
