It baffles me, I'm already 23 years old, using a 3 years old phone given by my girl, I've never complain or anything..
Here comes my 16 year old brother, has a better phone than me.. wants a newer model...
I believe Hand phones are there to serve a basic purpose, Call in , call out, sms in, sms out, mms....
Other features are value added and cost alot to use in my country.. so what's the fuss??

As long as your phone is serving you well and the features are all you need on your old mobile phone then i guess there is no need for a replacement. I think you need to replace your phone when you think it's beginning to fail you or if you're the tye you want the latest gadgets.

I know that I used to want the latest model of phone but I learned that well, while it may be the latest model, and while it may look stylish, it's truly something that can be an annoyance. I used to have a phone that had two sides to it, I can't remember the name of the model but on the one side with television and musical capabilities, the touch screen was so sensitive, and yet not. You had to basically press it just right or it would not work. It was an expensive model, but really only something showoffy. I haven't yet got a new cell phone, I don't need it. When I do it will be a different company, and a different model. I've moved so the cellphone company I did have wouldn't work here. Not that I liked the company in the first place.
In any case, I wouldn't worry about your brother he'll find that one phone he just can't stand, and maybe it will change his ways on buying new cell phones.

I think having a latest cellphone or not is not important. For me as long as i can use the primary use of cellphone like calling and texting, it's fine with me even my cellphone is not latest...Most buy latest cellphones just to be "in" and just want to be updated...
happy mylotters!

that is exactly my point! the 5 basic use of phone is the utmost important.. Others are mere showoff and useless

YO BRO! your 16 year old brother just want to impress girls. hahaha, but I think he's not aware that most girls DONT CARE! and if they actually do care, it shows what are those girls after. NOT HIM BUT HIS PROPERTY.. DOH.. Today after I got my new phone, I caught him flipping his phone trying to convince dad and me that there's something wrong with his phone.. geeps.. that annoys me too.. I guess we've got to make it clear to him that if he wants a new phone when his old phone is working just fine, he's got to pay for it! or else he'll be bugging our grandma to get one for him.. that's wayyyyyy too annoying.
he's ur brother a.k.a my brother..
all the best dealing with HIM .. zzz

Well that's him alright, if he doesn't want his phone then ask daddy to sell me that phone, i can give my gf hahahaha.
Then make sure he doesn't own a new one for the next 2 years! that'll teach him a lesson

i agree with you, purpose of cellphone is call in/out sms in/out, every other application is just another headache. Older cellphones will work proper longer than new ones.

That reminds me of an old Motorolla my dad used to own, you can drop it from the 3rd floor and still use it as if nothing happened!
Moreover we used to joke, you don't have to worry about robbers, just throw your phone at them
