I have diabetes and numerous other illnesses and now they come out with fears over a common Chemical Higher levels of a chemical often found in plastic food and drink packaging are associated with cardiovascular disease and diabetes, a study has suggested. The group with the highest levels of Bisphenol A (BPA) in their urine were found to be more than twice as likely to have diabetes or heart disease.

We can all thank our respective governments for all of this slow poisoning. In the US, the government allows food companies to not have to include all the ingredients on the label!! And of course the missing ingredients are chemicals that food companies use to make food last longer (so they have more of a shelf life) make food grow faster (so they can make more of it to sell) and even to taste better (because all these chemicals are making the food taste differently, they make chems to make them taste like they should) I was told by my doctor several years ago to NEVER drink water from a plastic bottle that had been left sitting in the car or left out in the sun for more than an hour. The heat apparently leeches out the chemicals from the plastic into the water and these chemicals are very toxic and slowly poison us over the yrs. It's amazing that in the last 20 years the amount of diabetes and other illnesses that people have. You never heard of so many people with so many medical issues 20 years ago, but now it seems like diabetes is no longer an uncommon illness. Instead of protecting us, it seems like government is more interested in making money than the welfare of it's people and we're slowly being filled with toxins that help to cause all these illnesses. (and of course they never cure the illness, only treat the symptoms... but that's a story for another thread) Take care and eat well.

That makes sense. We have been using plastics for so long, and I thought it was just the Trans fats that did it. Seems to be that since 1945 they have gradually introduced stuff that shortens our lives, causes diseases, makes us less fertile, etc. And now we who have had these products are too old now for the bad effect to be reversed. We can go back to using glass to store things, but not everyone can afford it. But not all of us have lots of money. That is why these things effect the poor and the middle class, because we have to use that stuff that will eventually kill us. I do not have diabetes yet nor heart disease, but I notice that my great grandmother lived longer than my grandmother, my grandmother lived longer than my mother. And the sane on my father's side. Yes we're screwed.

I thought I saw something like this on the front page of today's Yahoo browser. Maybe it's the one in canada, maybe it's all of them, I don't know, but it does look familliar. Thanks for the tip! I agree that people need to better research possible effects, before they use something for it's convenience. Thanks for posting this!
