Does your dog bury things?

My dog is so funny. I gave her a doggy bone and she just held it in her mouth. I watched to see what she was going to do with it and she walked over to the fence. Then she walked around a bit and finally buried it. LOL. Another time I gave her some bread, she buried that too. Does your dog bury things? My other dog never did this. In fact, he would try to dig up her stash. She would watch him and make sure he wasn't going near where she buried things and if he did, she would go and move it. LOL Dogs are so funny to watch.

We had one dog that would drop all his stuff into the big water bucket. He loved water and had no problem with sticking his entire head in there to retrieve whatever he was hiding. He did this to keep stuff from the other dog; he doesn't like water and would just sit there looking huffy knowing where the hidded goodies were but not wanting to do anything about it. As for burying, none of our dogs do that, but I have had some when I was growing up that did. These ones just dig holes for no apparent reason.

My dog likes to dig, but she doesn't bury things. My husband had a dog growing up that would bury everything. One time, it even buried a pancake. I always thought that was funny.

Yes, that is funny. Today I saw my dog bury some of her dog food. I guess she saves it for a snack later LOL. Have a good day.

We have a little, mini Dashaund and he loves to bury his chew bones in the house or atleast he thinks he is burying them. I placed an old blanket on the floor in his doggy bed and he hides them under the blanket but he digs as though he's outside. It's so cute to watch him. The cat will stand by him and just watch as though she is wondering what he's doing. I've thought of installing a camera inside the house just to watch the animals. Thought it would be great fun to see what they do when nobody is home.

He sounds cute. I often wondered what animals do when they are at home alone. Thanks for the reply

well, i miss the days of no home owners association. my dogs used to try that when we had the house. i had to teach them not to dig in order to keep the yard looking good. so, now my little dog no longer tries. the bigger dog i lost last year to illness and old age.

Hi, thank you for your reply. Sorry to hear about your dog. We lost a dog to illness a couple of months ago. I'm glad we don't have to worry about home owners assoc. We have a large yard but try to keep it looking nice.

Yeah lol, my dog uses to bury bones, toys and everything. When we leave her alone she uses to do a lot of holes on the ground, wich we don't like. Becouse she is nervous, she miss us, she wanted to come, or something like that. But i guess it is funny and entretaining for dogs to bury things.

No, my dog don't. Perhaps because we don't have our own garden. Though she 'digs' in her blanket and in our beds. I'd guess that's some sort of a dig-bury-dig symptom. Hehe.

My dog does that too. She always has to "fluff" up her blanket before she lays down. It's funny to watch. Thanks for the reply

He's funny if you give him a rawhide bone that is too big for him he will bury it somehwhere in the house like under old colthes or something. he buries food if we take him camping. Ii havent really seen him burying stuff int the yard or antything liek that. It's like some dogs seem to do that and some dont.

My daughter's dog doesn't bury things that I know of but she sure likes to dig holes. My daughter had taken her to the groomer once to get a bath and brought the dog and the twins over here to stay I let the dog out in the backyard and you should have seen how dirty she got, I tried to bathe her and get the mud off before my daughter came, but have you ever tried getting mud off a dogs paws I did the best I could but she still had some left on her.
