I don't answer any phonecall from work after working hours. I dare to do that because my work needs me to be in the office so as to do anything. As long as I am not working, I can't do anything to help. So, both I and my clients learned about that and they usually won't call me after work.
Happy day!

Hi Erin,
Yeh, I too have had the calls from 'above' on my days off - and become P'd off with it. But ... if you really like your job, perhaps this could work to your advantage.
By keeping your 'eye-on-the-ball' at work, you could become a very key asset to your boss - above that of your peers, and without being underhanded.
Then, of course, at promotion time - who is the best candidate?

Our old boss did that. he would even remind us about meetings the next day at 3am. Thank God, he was forced to retire!LOL! He actually got into a fight with an officemate. My current boss now is great. Since she has her own family, she knows when to respect our private time. She is also very flexible when we need to go on leaves. The only time she calls us at home or on our cellphones is for emergency purposes and she really does not kno where to look for it anymore. At least she actually apologizes for calling. LOL!
