Pointless discussion thread.

Everyday I encounter more of that in here. Sometimes they are funny enough for me to reply on them. Some makes me irritated. I see, recently, a thread which have more than a hundred responses already and the guy is seeking advice if he would believe on an email sent to him from Africa. Some may have cashed-in on that thread already. Hehehe. You've got to be kidding me if you are still having second thoughts on that scam. I want funny and witty discussions. Or something that would make me think. Or something that will inform me. Anything but a pointless discussion.

There's nothing to do with pointless discussion. But if it brings fun the readers that wont be consider pointless anymore. That's for fun.

When I see such discussion I just skip to another post. There are numerous posts which can be read, some are worth it to read and reply others are not. Sometimes it's a pity that you find interesting discussions unanswered.

Well, again, as I have said this before, people need to come up with more original discussions. Come up with discussions that make people think, but also come up with discussions that are fun and exciting.

i got your point, but sometimes the pointless discussion threads are actually earning more responses than those that really make sense, that's why.. but sometimes, it get so dull when it's just very pointless.. i am not sure people run out of topics to discuss or simply can't think of anything happy and something that really make sense to talk about

I agree with you. I scroll through the threads a lot now finding it harder to find something interesting to reply to. Usually when I post a discussion I am seeking advice on something. Hoping that there might be some one who has experience that can help. But I noticed a discussion recently where the subject of the post was just that he got more than 100 responses and that thread got more than 100 responses and it was a totally meaningless post. I do not mind posts about scams as at least they have a point but some of the discussions here lately have been extremely pointless. I suspect that people are just replying because it is easy to reply to and they want to make money off the reply. Sad.

Well, I can agree with you on that one, but then there are some people that enjoy posting back or starting discussions such as this just to hear others respond to it. Maybe it was someone when they first started a New discussion such as this really had no idea these were SCAMS as well. But in reality, isn't it always best to be Safe than Sorry?

I feel quite similar often when looking through discussions. I think this is a brilliant place to share and learn from others. I think I've added similar comments at times when responding to things. I've found going to the discussion page and typing a topic in search often gets some good results. Look forward to hearing some good stuff from you. Enjoy!

ps. there's some great mylotters out there, with lots of though provoking discussions, great tips on all sorts. Just takes a while to get into it.

I also have an observation here in mylot, the newer the member the more likely it makes a big deal out of everything, dude chill out, we are all here to enjoy, just enjoy, no bashing.. if you want some place to inform you, go wiki. this place is for discussions no matter how pointless it is, it is your choice if you will respond or not. but then again maybe you just start this thread to earn, so there I am giving you the opportunity of earning, but please don't bash on some one else's post to have a topic of your own. Peace and keep on posting!

I also notice, also from other forums, that since we're just talking through writing, misinterpretation can happen. I'm not making a big deal out of everything. I'm not bashing. I'm just telling what I observe. And what I have written are realities. Aren't they? Even I have started pointless threads already. Have you observed that some of those who replied are with me also? With me or not, I don't care. Everyone is welcome. Just don't name-drop. I also notice that veterans are more likely to bully those newbies. Reality? Maybe. Peace to you all.

ethan, veterans pick on newbies? I kind of still consider myself a newbie, and no one has ever picked on me. They have all been pretty friendly and helpful, actually. No name dropping? You mean you don't want me to tell you that I had dinner with Liza a few days ago, or that Arnold was riding with my son in his car the other day, or that Barrack was standing in my front yard visiting with my neighbors, stuff like that?

I am no veteran, I am just a newbie too.

I see some pointless discussion sometimes here. And when i was a newbie here, i even responded to a discussion started by another newbie that used a different language. I also answered someone that started a question: Do you count your brush strokes when you brush your teeth? Now, probably i would not respond to those kinds of discussion anymore. I think those discussions have a higher possibility of being deleted anyway.

Has Obama sucked the life force out of the American public? Before you know it we will be living in an environment similar to Village of the Damned? No one thinks for themselves anymore...its disgusting.

We should really ignore the people who are trying to make a bad thing out of mylot.like the people who are placing referral links..Argh, they really can't read the rules, and just have fun with discussing and making friends here on mylot! Ok, I'm just a member for 3 days now, but I really love it allready!! And I'm allready addicted to it! If I could, I would be here sitting day and night and just chatting, discussing and helping my friends of mylot.com! And I really got to give credit to the creators of this site, they did a teriffic job, by making such a site! Thumbs up !!!

I agree. I just started on this site a couple of days ago. For the most part I love it. There are some good discussions on here that will make you think or at least make you smile. But you have to sort through a lot of pointless stuff to get to them.

That is very common in here now that the population of membership in here has ballooned in great proportions. It is very likely that you get post that is great or just plainly pointless. There are also plenty of topics that are either similar and has been discussed in here over and over again. One topic I usually encounter in here is about "Long Distance Love", "Separation", "Cyberlove" etc. etc.... some interesting, some boring, some are just plainly repeats.

I think there's ample space on mylot for the serious and the not so. Ultimately people learn that their topics aren't interesting to anybody when they're left with 0 responses.

You don't have to be using your noodle constantly. Pointless discussions is what the internet was founded on. If your mind or body gets overworked. Let the pointless creativity ooze out of your jello brain. You can blow off a lot of steam this way.

Pointless discussions? I have to say I enjoy talking about nothing. I can go on all day talking about things that really have nothing to do with anything. I bet after talking to me, you will not want to have anything to do with anything. No one will be allowed to talk to you, look at you, move around you, think about you, or do anything that will make you have a thought or other form of higher level brain function. You know what I mean?
