Central Park is huge and you could probably spend at least a day exploring all there is to see...the Central Park Zoo as well as the Children's Zoo, Belvedere Castle, a carousel. If this is your first time to NYC your family will probably want to visit Liberty Island to see the Statue of Liberty as well as Ellis Island. Ferries depart from Battery Park at the south end of the city. While you're in that neighbourhood, you might consider visiting the South Street Seaport at Pier 17, which has shops, restaurants and exhibits. When will you be visiting New York? If you are going there in November or December, your family might also enjoy the Radio City Christmas Spectacular featuring the Rockettes. This show has become an annual holiday tradition. Just remember, if you do plan to go anytime between Thanksgiving and Christmas, these weeks are always the busiest in New York. If you plan to see a show, it is best to purchase them now to avoid them being sold out by the time you get there. I hope you have fun on your trip!

I currently live in NYC. You can take your kids to the big Toys'R'Us in Times Square or the FAO Schwartz on 5th. There's the Central Park zoo, which is tiny, and the Bronx zoo, which is supposed to be amazing. The Natural History Museum is always fun, too. There's also Top of the Rock and the observation deck at the Empire State Building. Depending on how old your kids are, you could take them to see a Broadway show. There are currently three Disney shows on Broadway- The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and Mary Poppins. If your kids are older, there's a new show called '13'. It's about, well, thirteen year olds. The entire cast is around 13, as is the band.

I used to live in New York. I would suggest you take them to time square at night when all the lights are on. It is very pretty. Other than that I really cant suggest anything because that is the ONLY thing i liked about New York. However, there is lots of stuff to do. Enjoy!
