What to do with old stuffs?

When I opened my closet this morning, I found out I have many clothes that no longer fit because I have gained a few pounds :) and some are out of fashion that I fear I may look weird if I put them on. I donated some of it to a non-government organization which helps many people - feed them, clothe them and help them build a home and find an alternative solution to support and earn an income by themselves when no job is available? Do you have many old stuff that you no longer in use? What do you do with them? Happy myLotting :)

Yes, its also same with me, I give it to those who needs it. When there was was between the muslims and army we gave clothing to the thousands of refugees, its nice to see that others get happy with what we are no longer using.

For useful stuff like clothes, school books, etc., I usually also give them away to charitable institutions. For stuff that I've collected through the years but which I eventually got bored of, I try to sell them online, just in case some people are interested. =)

I turn to give mine to the needy. It just brings a smile to your face when you see just how much someone appriciates what you've given to them even if its not your favorate or something you'd considered boring to wear or old.... To them it means a whole lot new or something to wear... But if you're thinking of making extra bucks or if their still looks good have a garage sale. You coulod make a few bucks from the sales and score some nice stuff that could fit you....

yes I have too much!!! Those old clothes and other stuff I have since my high school years..the PE Uniform, Intramurals shirt, school uniform and take note also my notebooks and workbooks from elemntary are still there. I keep on laughing when I see my handwriting. I don't want to give it away because everytime I see them I can recall the memories during that time.

I give clothes which are in good condition either to family/friends/relatives or to charity. Sometimes I also sell unwanted gifts or books on the internet to earn a few extra money. When I moved house a few years ago, I had everything in boxes. Up till this summer I began to open boxes and I found items which I do no longer need.

We have lots of "stuff" that as I get time to clean it out and no longer want it goes to family and friends first. Then whatever is left goes to either the Salvation Army, Womens Care Center or somewhere. Some of it I put up for auction depending on what it is. I hate just throwing away things. If it can help someone, bring them joy or whatever I would rather do that then just toss it.

I usually will donate it foe welfare. Sometimes, I will give to my younger cousin or siblings. I think giving to others will help them rather throwing it away. Giving old stuff usually will help the orphan children to have th things they like. I remember their happy faces when receives things even the things are not new. They still accepted it with a big smile.

What I usually do is sell them for a low cost or recycle them. It never hurts to have a little money to a new one. Some I keep for someday it will be twice the its worth.

Hi, if there are not too worn or old, I would usually pack them up and give them to the Salvation Army or a Children's Shelter nearby. The really older clothes - I would use them as rags.

That's a brilliant idea you got there. ;D I have 4 younger siblings so my old stuffs usually go to them. When I was in college I use to put my old stuff for garage sales. I hope I can do that the same in future. I really want to help street children here in our country.

I do it with headache... especially my shoe boxes It's difficult to find people suit for those stuffs. Needy people normally don't enjoy fashionable things. Friends normally wouldn't pick other people's leftover.

Donating them is an awesome thing to do. Depending on what you have, I would also try selling them on craigslist, or ebay, or even doing a garage sale. I browse through craigslist alot to see if i find something i like with a really good deal. Someones junk can be another persons treasure!

At my place there are lots of old stuff, i usually donate it to poor people who are in need. Every three months i donate it to SOS children village. The orphan children get a small courage when the get clothes. As there are many people who have old chothes or stuff, but instead they donate it, they incinerate them r throw them. Do you know people of that kind? Have you ever ask them why they burn old stuff or throw instead of giving them to people who are in needs?

Generally i do avoid to throw old stff if any..because as i am very sensitive person i always go in old days.....like if i have any old books or any i just make thinking that how i bought that book that day what were happened, from where i get it...and many things related to that...but now a days i changed every thing and if any old stuff i have to throw then i immidiately make some decision about that otherwise the issue will get in pending.

I did have some old stuffs with me last time and what I did was offered them to my relatives and friends. Not that they really need them or they can't afford them but sometimes we would never know that things that are junk to us are not junk to others. Anyway, by doing that I managed to get rid of at least half of my old stuffs and the other half, I offered them to a man who always come around in a van looking for old stuffs to collect from the garbage collection area. I am not sure what he would actually do with all those stuffs but he was delighted when he saw all those old stuffs that he was getting. One thing for sure, those old stuffs that were already useless for me had become useful stuffs for him and furthermore, it would always give us a good feeling when we're able to give something to others. Cheers!

you have options for those things, first you can set up a garage sale outside of your house and you can get some money out of it.. second will be giving it to the needy, maybe donating those things to the orphanages.. its up to you to make a choice...

A lot of your local churches do clothing give aways during the year and are glad to get your donations. Also don't forget you can always make a million on ebay cleaning out your closet! LOL My sister does sell on ebay and she sells some of the strangest things that you would never dream of people buying. May be worth a shot!

Hi Everyone! This is my first response! YAY! You could bag everything and donate to Salvation Army or something like that or if you want to make a little cash then you could post the items on ebay.com or craigslist.com. I've used both and they are both excellent. Another idea is to bring to a local consignment shop and you could get either money or store credit for your items. Hope this helps!
