Hi!
I have this habit of starting almost every post of mine with the word "well". I even hate it myself but I just do it almost every time I post. I haven't noticed that I would have any "bad habits" when speaking.
Do YOU have any "bad habits" when talking or writing?

Hi Iron,
Maybe you need to just change it to "hi", lol! Anyway, when talking, I have this habit where I will use a lot of hand gestures but I am trying to minimize this since I know it is very destructing...When it comes to writing, I can't see any bad habits maybe just too much use of LOL! hehhee!

Hi Iron,
really? ANyway, it is common in our Country but we are using "hehehe" then when it's a forum like this, it consist of different races so we used to use "LOL"
Anyway, I am learning from you about it..I know sometimes it's not funny but still I will place "LOL"!
maybe time to change the habit!

Well, it isn't that bad. It's just my country, as you already said, it isn't like that in yours. But now I know that it isn't so strange in other countries to say lol so maybe I won't find it strange in the future

Well, I mean hi , I've noticed that many people have a habit of putting lol in every possible place. I think that's pretty strange because at least here in Finland only young people use lol. But I don't really hate the use of lol but it's just pretty strange to me...

I think we all have little habits at times with which we annoy ourselves with. With me the problem can often be made more irritating if I try to stop it, so I don't try and stop it these days, and I worry so much less about it. If you say "well" a lot of the time, you probably notice it more than anybody else :-)

When I write, I often use elipses (...) which is a bad habit I think because it cuts the thoughts in the process and in a way it seves an alibi so as not to use some conjunctions or linking stuff in grammar.
When talking, I tend to talk fast especially when I am nervous to the point that I won't stop.

Every body has some habits but it is the self determination whether these are bad or good in the circumstances where we live a prosper. I think one should change his habits than changing the people we live and friends we have. Habits can be changed but the relationship and people with whom we live and the friends we like can not easily be changed. So change the habits and not the friends.

I don't consider starting my posts with the word "well" as a BAD habit, that's why I used the quotation marks...

Hmmm...my bad habits when talking is that some times ill stop in the middle of a sentence and start a whole new sentence.
Some people at my school always say "bruh" (like brother) when they are talking to some one. its like how some new yorkers say "man" and how dirty south people say "shawty"

We all have our little foibles and I am no exception, in speaking I have a bad habit of saying 'apparantly' I seem to say it a lot and I guess it can sound quite annoying and irritating to the receiver but sometimes when I asked a blatantly obvious question like is that you? I will reply apparantly when they know full well it is me! But I seem to use it a lot when writing too! I guess it's in the same league as 'well'

I also try to avoid using the exclamation mark 'cause it sounds (to me at least) like the writer was angry or something... And maybe some have noticed that I use '...' a lot That doesn't really annoy me as much as the word 'well' but I still sometimes just wonder why I use it all the time...

I've noticed that many people here on myLot use the word 'lol' very often. I try to use the lol-smilie rather than the word -

I feel writing 'well' cannot be termed as a bad habit of yours. It may be taken as a part of the sentence. My habits which may be termed are many, but I would not like to disclose those openly............LOL!

My bad habit is typing to fast and not proofreading what I wrote. Even if I did proofread it I miss my errors.

well, i guess we all do! lol! anyways, there are some words or phrases where in we could not forget and we keep on repeating everytime we spoke or may have written about it. but maybe thats not really a bad habit, does it? we are just used to it that we cannot just directly let it out of our minds. thanks my friend. jhelai

Yeah, they might not be BAD habits but some can still be pretty annoying when you realize you've used the word or phrase again.

"Well" I guess I have much the same as you. I also use the word "Well" as well as "However" and when I am speaking I often use the word "Actually" at the beginning of a sentence. I don't realise I am doing it until somebody mimicks me.

Yes. One of my bad habits is trying to prove I'm right by putting unnecessary facts in my poetry. The main reason I do this is because I think people are not going to believe if I'm writing a poem about current events because they think disabled people don't know anything but someone in my writing group told me it's not my job to cure other people's ableism by writing worse poetry and that if they think that it is their own problem and has nothing to do with me. I'm working on it. Another thing I do is tend to use the same words over and over again.
