When you accept a freelance project (writing, web design, other) do you feel like you're getting paid as much as you deserve? You don't need to list the amount you charge or anything like that, I'm just curious to know if you're making what you should. If not, what's holding you back from getting more money?

I've been working full time as a freelance writer for six years. I find a lot of my private clients on specific internet marketing forums. I go and search for clients I want to work with who will pay me the fees I want to earn.
Forums like Digital Point Forums or Warrior Forums are filled with marketers who will pay for articles and web content to be written quickly and efficiently.
I contacted a couple of SEO companies directly and offered my services. Two of them accepted and gave me a trial. They still order their conent from me even now, four years later.
I scour the writing guideline databases, like Duotrope.com or WorldWideFreelance.com or WritingForDollars.com to access the submission details for high paying magazines and write directly for them and their needs.
There is plenty of work available. You just need to know how and where to find it.

well, in the beginning, we have to place low bids just to get a project.....getting your first project is the most difficult part.
but, once we have earned enough reputation on the site, we can charge reasonably good...:-)

Working as a freelancer is not as easy as it looks for the first time. Charging the right amount for your work depends on many things, starting from your experience, the requirements of the job and from your employer. Freelancers often fall into the trap of charging less, because they need the work.
