Roomate problem, about dogs..

Hello there, I want to share my problem here, maybe someone can solve this out. See, I have this roomate with me, he have a dog, a cute little dog, golden retreiver, just 6 months years old, but the problem is, I got problem with dogs, I get bitted by dogs for 3 times!! and one of them almost got me rabies! thank God I was in the right time to the Hospital, and the doctors shots couple injections. :( Now, my roomate is very nice, I told already about the dog's situation, he take is as a story, I mean his dog, when my roomate is around the dog acting very fine, but when he's gone, the dog became very very very scary! that dog almost bite me once, thank God i could escaped to my bathroom.. can someone tell me how to speak with my roomate ?
