The US federal government has now bought 85% of AIG bank. The decision effectively nationalises AIG by transferring control to the central bank. The rescue comes only a week after the government's decision to rescue two enormous mortgage companies, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Farming and other big industries already receive massive government subsidies. It seems once again that free market capitalism is failing the American people. How long will it take before the USA finally becomes a true socialist state?
