I had forgotten

I went to work as usual this morning only to be greeted by an almost empty car park. I looked around for my colleagues' cars and none was there. I realized something must be wrong somewhere.
I got out of the car and went up to my office and as expected I found that the office door was completely shut and there was no sign that there was anybody there before me. I knew that something was definitely wrong.
So, I called up one of my colleagues and asked her whether today is a public holiday and she said yes. Oh boy! She asked me whether I was planning to come to work and I told her that I was already at work. She had a good laugh!
So, I drove back home and while driving, I called up my wife and told her that today is a public holiday and she had a good laugh too!
So, while driving, I was thinking to myself on how could I ever miss that today is a public holiday and then I laughed a good laugh at myself!
Have this happened to you before? Hope to hear some of your own experience here!
Cheers!

No, this has never happened to me! If we have a holiday from work (which is only 5 a year), then you better believe I'm going to remember that. I refuse to spend any of my free time at work, so I remember every time I'm supposed to be off.

I have gotten ready for school and realized it was a Holiday! I never actually left the house though. It was always upsetting because I would wish I had known so I could have slept in!

True, especially now a days with the gas prices being what they are!
