I just got a call form the nice lady who gives Sebastian his hair cuts. She asked if we need to have him groomed and I responded that he was ready for a hair cut but that we did not have any money. She said to bring him in anyway. She is giving a seminar on grooming and he is her favorite customer and so she is doing his hair for free and using him to teach others how to do it. That is just wonderful.

Wow, ya can't beat that great deal! What a generous lady. It's nice that your dog can partake in teaching other people how to care for their doggies.

I have heard of human beings getting to be hair style models for students. I never thought of pet groomers doing some teaching or seminars with a live model. How absolutely neat for you and Sebastian.

Wow, that is wonderful! I love it when nice things like that happen to my friends, my family and myself. it's nice when people in the world do that for others.

I don't have a dog that grows hair. Mine sheds hair all over the place. I wonder if there is anything I can do about it. Because I get alarmed when I see so much hair all over the place. What shall I do if the dog turns hairless? :(
Cheers and happy mylotting

That is funny. With having four dogs we sweep up what could make a whole small dog every week and wonder where all that could be coming from. How can they shed so much? And yet they are not hairless like you would expect by the weeks worth that is tossed out to the garbage (Note that we do sweep more then one day a week). You would think they would be all bald by now.

So it is normal? I really feel scared when I see all that hair around. Started a Mylot discussion too about it. Everybody convinced me it is ok as long as she doesn't have patches. But, I am still not convinced. This is my first dog. :) Well, she doesn't have patches, but as you said, she still has lots of hair in spite of shedding so much everyday.
Cheers and happy mylotting

I'll be honest with you- I think you have a groomer who is in the business for the dogs and NOT the money. That's a rare thing these days and I'd definatly stick with that groomer.
I don't take my dogs to ANY groomer simply because I have a hard time trusting them (seen too much happen to other dogs in the past), so I groom my boys myself. But, I do think that you have a good hearted groomer there.

I have never had to use a groomer before we got Sebastian but he is a breed that needs to have his hair cut several times a year or it gets really long and we do not really like the traditional mop look of the Maltese. Maria is a very special person to even consider doing it for free.
