I feel a Degree in business Marketing! Reason is America and the world is built on transactions, Marketing plays a major roles in enlightening customers of where to get the product they are searching for. Basically communicating what a product is? what it can do? and where to get? Business Marketing is a promising field!

Engineering degree does go a long way. But another thing you should consider is how health professionals are needed. More now, than before and I would strongly recommend a degree involved within the scope of health. It doesn't necessarily mean you have to be a doctor, but you can be an office manager at a medical facility or even a nurse or medical assistant. A lot of great things can come from being any of the things I just mentioned. I am actually going for my associates degree in applied science right now. Which guarantees me a spot in any of the following fields:
medical assistant
office management
medical billing and coding
medical transcription
lvn (with the proper courses taken, you might need extensive classes)
Not even that, if you wish, you can continue going to college to receive a Bachelors or Masters. There is just so much you can do. Hope this helped!

I think marketing is a tough field. Lots of competition for a few spots.
Engineering on the other hand... you'll always need those. Engineering and medicine are two fields where there will constantly be more people needed, so those two pathways will guarantee you have a job. Marketing can be up in a good economy, but can go down in a bad economy because nobody is buying things and marketing isn't as useful, for example. But engineering is ALWAYS needed.
I'm a little bit biased though... I'm getting an engineering degree.
