Posters of Bayani Fernando called my attention.I'm just thinking if he has done good for the Metro. As a former Mayor of Marikina City made so many improvements in the city. The city becomes the cleanest city in the Philippines. So many criticism from different people has been given to him.In your opinion, has he done good for the Metro?

I think he did a lot of good for Metro Manila... eventhought a lot of people got angry at him because of the houses and establishments he demolished... more good came out of it... since traffice is still bad... but it is much bearable than it was 5 years ago... i also like the idea of those pedestrian overpass... made people a lot more safe... and the color is somewhat unique...

I was also quite shock when i first saw those pink barriers and pink overpass... but when i made my own research about it... i found out that out of all the thousands of colors that we can use... pink is not that prone to vandalism... i don't think BF used that color out of whim... but i admire him for taking the joke made because of his color choice...
Makati is indeed a clean city but that is suppose how it shoud be because that is like the business capital of the country where all the important international offices are located... so it would certainly be a shame if it would just look like an ordinary city...

Makati is a clean city in SOME parts only, but on the other side... look around... I stayed in makati for 10 years and I don't consider it a clean city except for the business district... Always flooded (pasong tamo area).
Bayani Fernando has done so many good things in terms of changing the ways of most Filipino Drivers. It is just right to put barriers and and fences to EDUCATE people to do the right thing.
I just don't like Bayani Fernando for displaying his FACE all over the metro campaigning for something. The word BAYANI FERNANDO being written all over must be enough, but his face... hmmmmmmm....

i am not originally from marikina... i only live here maybr for four or five years. i can compare the city i was raised from the city of marikina and i salute the government here. the metro? yes Bayani Fernando indeed made a lot of good for the metro. maybe they are people who are not that open for change but i think we nbeed to be displined. i am not only happy on the posters tha ti see all over the metro. kung nakatulong man sya it is because that is his job.... wag na sanang ipagkalandakan pa. if you really help and did something good people will remember you. you dont have to write it everywhere.

I have heard about Bayani Fernando's contributions in Marikina as well as in Metro Manila, and I believe he really did a lot. He managed to make Marikina City, one of the cleanest city like Cebu City. It's always the case, there are really people who are just resistant to changes. Bayani had the guts to continue his efforts in improving Metro Manila. I hope the people cooperates and I guess everything will be fine. This is just my view. Good day dong!

Certainly I believe he has done a lot of good things in Metro Manila. In our place, he has successfully removed the illegal vendors teeming the sidewalk. Also the squatters he was able to relocate, and the roads have widened back to their normal size. Many people just don't understand Bayani because he is implementing discipline and you know Filipinos are the most undisciplined people so they hate it when somebody is using discipline to correct them. I had a chance to visit Marikina and I was so impressed with the cleanliness of the place. Imagine how a responsible Mayor could convert the once messy place into a very clean one. I just wish other Mayors could learn from him. He taught the people there how to discipline themselves. The place is really very clean. It is just like in Subic when Gordon was ruling that place. I just don't know now coz I've not visited the place for long.
I'm just afraid of Bayani's bid for Presidency. I think it's too early for him to aspire that position. He can't win the election yet because many people do not like him. And he is not also known in the province yet. People from the province normally vote for the popular ones like actors and actresses. Although I am surely voting for him should he still run.

i believe fernando did a great job in metro manila especially in traffic and order..
i know many politicians are angry with him because they think it can't be done, and yet he did it..
his works are sometimes unpopular to many like the vendors because he removed their means of business, but to ordinary people the improved flow in sidewalk & road traffic is a great relief..

For one, he got rid of street vendors and houses that were obstructing sidewalks which is a good thing. He also had those metal fences in the middle of the roads put up and those concrete lane dividers so buses could drop passengers off in an orderly manner. I think the ideas are really good. The problem again lies with the people. Why did he put up those fences? So that people would go down in the proper places. But you still see people going down in the middle of the road. You still see buses stopping in the wrong places to pick-up and drop-off passengers. If he can find a way to fix this, then I'd say he's done good.
Another thing, Bayani Fernando still hasn't done anything to properly train the MMDA enforcers. They still do a crappy job at managing traffic and upholding traffic laws. And our roads are not improving. Our main highway, EDSA, is very uneven and full of potholes.
I'm not a resident of Marikina so I don't really know what he's done for that city. I think he is doing his job as the head of the MMDA but I'm not saying he's doing it well.

Definitely yes! But if you will as the illegal vendors and squatters, they will disagree with you. I appraise him for his good works for the betterment of Metro Manila.
However, I am starting to disagree with style of "campaigning" recently. He is now toning down his voice and his good looking pictures are now everywhere. What do you think about some public buses with a banner that bears his first name - BAYANI? We all know that he already announced his ambition to be a president this coming 2010 election...
Trying to be nice...or to be another TRAPO (traditional politician?. Hopefully not.

i am not too keen about BF actually. i am not sure though if my 2 cents in this count because i have been apathetic to Philippine politics. i think BF did a lot of good for the metro. i was impressed when i went to Marikina. the city is very clean. but i don't like BF because he has been brandishing this really large banners with his face on it with pink background and i hate how he thought up those U turns that cause traffic anyway.

What Bayani, done good? He should execute his function as mandates by the city council of Metro Manila, so that people trusted in him is praising him. I don't like the most for him, is that he abuse his power. He is not considerate, for the welfare of the poor...

I think Bayani Fernando has done some good things for the metro manila afterall. His practicality and uniqueness in running an office coupled with a little awkwardness (sometimes) have paved the way for the improvement of metro manila in general. But just like what others have already commented, those posters bearing his name should not be there till the official campaign period begins.

i do not live in manila but i can always see him or his group mmda...cleaning the streets of metro manila...i think he is effective in driving away those vendors but sometimes it is done in quite a harsh way...i think he has plans to run in this 2010 election because his posters is also all over hanging here in my city...im in cebu...if he wants to run in a higher position then i will certainly vote for him.

I think he's done a pretty good job as MMDA chairman. I remember how bad traffic was in the metro years ago and now its better than before. He still has a long way to go but at least he's got vision. I don't quite agree with his politicking but at least he has plans and actions to back it up so I guess I'll that one pass.

He has good intentions for Metro Manila but the way he implements it are soetimes degrading to the masses. I have seen his actual operation wherein his boys threw the food one vendor is selling. They should have donated it to the hungry people instead of spoiling it.
