How many times do you wash your hands when you are cooking. I wash my hands so many times that I lose count. If I pick up a towel and wipe up a spill, I wash my hands. If it open a can or open the fridge, I wash my hands. If I add sald and touch the salt shaker I wash my hands. It is just something I that I do when cooking and it drives some people crazy to watch me. My former boyfriend refused to be in the kitchen when I was cooking. How about you?

That's an interesting discussion,I like it~~I always cook myself for the dinner and I will prepare and cook.During the half an hour's time,I may wash my hand for three times at least as I feel uncomfortable with the meat,sources...Happy lotting and cooking~

I too feel uncomfortable about the meat. I do not like for it to be on my hands. I cannot wait to wash it off. Sometimes my 3 year old grandaughter walks up to me when I am cooking and wants me to get something for her. I have to wash my hands even if I am not handling meat before I get it for her and then wash them again before I go back to cooking.

I do wash my hands, righ before everytime I have to actually touch the food. And if I am touching raw meat, I was my hands everytime I have to touch anything.

I cannot stand the thought of touching the raw meat. I have to wash my hands as soon as I can. I do not like the feel of it on my hands.

When i cook, i like to cook things separately and then combine them in the end. That involves moving, cleaning, pouring oil, etc a lot of times. For some reason, i tend to wash my hands every time i touch something oily or sticky. I dont know if it's a reflex thing or just me wanting to feel clean. I remember me even washing my hand when scrabbling an egg because i thought i got some of the raw egg on my hands....

I think it might be a thing about the food being clean. That's why we wash our hands so much. To keep from contaminating he food. My mother is the same way. She is 83 years old now and hardly ever does any cooking. I do it all. I'm geting pretty good.
