Yesterday I read an article about the professional digital camera and I learned this. It seems Canon has more loyal users compare to Nikon. Is that true? If you are a Canon user, will you buy another Canon product or you will try another brand next time?

I just recently started buying Canon (I have a DSLR and a photo printer) products after using Pentax and HP products. Yes, I would definitely buy more Canon products. They are top quality products and their customer service is outstanding. I think you get great value for the money.

Hello youless. My digital camera is a Canon brand bought in 2004, and it is still working perfectly. But if I am going to get another new one, I will choose to get a Sony brand one. I think that the lens of Sony brand is better probably as most of my foreign colleagues use this brand. And I do find that I like Sony brand digital camera. Mine cost me close to 5000 RMB, but next time I will buy a much cheaper one as you see, the price of digital camera has been falling, much cheaper than the one I bought years ago. Good day.

I had a bad experience with a Canon product which has put me off for life so I actually AVOID buying ANY Canon product. It was a printer for my computer I was recommended Canon by the salesperson, I took it home and I had so much problem with it that I said never again. So for me any product as long as it WASNT Canon I would be happy to use. I will always go for Sony products when possible because Sony is the best make!

Hi youless,
We are loyal also to Canon..LOL! ANyway, yea, I am very willing to try another brand if ever I will also see the quality and durability of the said products!
But, that is rare since once I am satisfied costumer of a particular brand, I will really patronize it not until they will just raise their prices unreasonably!

I have a canon camera and a canon printer... i used to have a kodak camera... but it broke down after two years of using it... so i decided to just buy a canon camera... and i have been using it for two years now... without any problem... so i think that is why more and more people love to use canon...

Part of the reason there are more Canon Owners is that back in the film days Canon came out with the Canon Rebel SLR series and it was priced for the average photographer and it could be used in the full Auto mode. When the digital cameras came out many of these film owners wanted to switch to digital and then Cannon upgraded the Rebel to digital and was the first to sell it for under $1,000. I am a Canon owner and researched both Canon and Nikon before I bought. To get into the field of DSLR for shooting sports the Canon was slightly better. Most people who want to upgrade are going to stick with the camera the have the lens and other equipment that they can use. Many of the can top end point and shoot cameras use the same batteries, flash units and other extras as the DSLR so you can slowly upgrade.

When it comes time to replace my Cannon Rebel, I will probably stick with the Cannon brand. One my lenses are Cannon, and two it has wonderful quality and a smaller price tag than the equivalent Nikon. Personally I think the Cannon cameras are very good.

I only got my first SLR about 5-6 years ago and it was a MINOLTA. I have a nice set of lenses and accessories for it. But I recently bought a used CANON AE1 Program off EBAY and I'll be selling my MINOLTA gear soon.=) The CANON is a better camera in my opinion. I also Just bought a CANON Digital P/S that I am very pleased with. And I don't really like digital so that is saying a lot.
On the other hand I have a friend who is a Pro and he has been shooting CANON for a long time, Recently he was working with some NIKON Equipment and liked it so much that he has switched. So who can say? Maybe it's just a case of "the grass is greener" for both of us.
I have sworn off of SONY products since the time I spent Three Hours on hold with Tech Support before I finally just hung up the phone without them ever even answering. On the same day I called TOSHIBA for a problem with my computer (Caused by the SONY product) and I my problem was fixed in 8 minutes! Customer support is very important to me.

Wow! That's interesting! I personally know dozens and dozens of photographers who have switched from Canon to Nikon, but I don't know of any photographers who have switched from Nikon to Canon or any other brand. I wonder where this information came from, as it's the exact opposite from what I've personally witnessed among professional photographers!

not sure of the stats but my first digicam is a canon a70 and i think it's been with me for about, uuhhhmmmm, i think almost 4 years now and i still have to experience any glitch. and since i discovered something on the shots that i took using that digicam i am talking, i became so interested in photography and guess what my goal is? i am planning (and right now saving) to buy a canon dSLR either the 450D or the 40D. i'm only a vacation shooter and a hobbyist and absolutely not a pro.

I'm a loyal canon user. I've had 3, now i have a canon 40d and love it. My lenses have came with me from my past two cameras and still work phenominal. I've tried to shoot with other cameras and dind't mind them too much, but i know this and my last camera inside and out, and if i get another it will probably be a canon too. The best comparison i can think of is like comparing a PC to a Mac. Once you get comfortable with one and get a bunch of proprietary software (lenses for cameras) that it is much easier to stick with the one you have. They all get the job done, there are professionals with all different brands. But why change when you can get great results with what you have, know, and are comfortable with?
