I've actually been thinking seriously about doing this the past few months. Mainly I just want to study cakes & cake decorating. I've been taking the Wilton cake classes at Joann Fabrics; it's a good alternative for now, until we move & I can start classes again.

You know what? I'd really love to take up culinary arts. If I still have the chance I would like to enroll in a cooking school because, like you, I, too like to cook and experiment on foods. I have recipe books at home and try to cook special foods when there are special occasions. Have a nice day amy!

Hi there!
I also like cooking! I always watch cooking shows at lifestyle network and take down notes about the uses of herbal ingredients and their substitute cause I live in the Philippines and some ingredients are not available here.
If given the chance I would like to study culinary arts. But the tuition is expensive and I don't think I can affor it. For now I just try to learn my own style and improve it. I like to cook for my family so I guess just learning to cook from TV shows and recipe books would be enough for me.
Ciao!

yes, a lot!! but i really cannot afford to go to a reputable culinary school. here in my country, the tuiton fee for a well-know culinary academy is so steep!! but all the graduates there are guaranteed to work in a five star hotel, well-known restaurant, or even work outside our country. It's like an investment for them because they are sure that after they graduated, all the tuiton fee they shelled out will be replenished by their huge salary.
