How can you define diamonds?

Diamonds are beautiful and valuable gemstones,but the process of becoming diamonds is anything but glamorous.They starts as common carbon-black,dirty,and combustible.
But through countless years of intense heat and high pressure deep within the earth,they become pure and strong.

i'm not skillful at distinguish diamonds. i only can distinguish the worst fakement from better quality.
