We have a friend whose wife has just delivered to a new baby and so, he's got no choice but to bring his 1 year old son in our apartment. They live next door and most of us neighbors are close friends for all of us there are godmothers and godfathers of the the boy. Ofcourse, only me and husband got a child so he really knows how to take care of him. I saw how my husband gave him a bath and even clean him up when he pooh. lol! I find it wonderful. Seeing my husband taking care of other's son makes me see how good father he is to our own. Good thing our son is having his vacation at my parents'. :-)

I love to hear stories like that because in today's world not lot of the fathers are not around to help take care of the kids. He is a relly good husband and you and your son are blessed to have him in your lifes.

True, but on the other hand, there more and more fathers like myself - loving, caring and completely dovoting themselves for their children. I remember when my son got born. When we arrived home almost whole family was there, but believe it or not, I was the only one that wasn't afraid takig care of him completely (including diapers - which in fact are not so scary in the beginning ;p ). My son is 2.5 now and I still bath him, feed him , play with him, or sing lullabies. And I can't imagine I don't.

Whoa wait a sec here..Your husband is the father to your neighbours child?? How'd that come to be? Was he cheating or was it some sort of an arrangement you all had?

LOL, Ravenlady. I read it like that at first! We talk about 'mothering' (meaning caring for kids), so 'fathering' is a natural extension ... the trouble is, it means something quite different!

LOL ... I had to read the description before I understood what you meant! 'Being like a father to someone' is VERY different to 'being the father of someone', which is what your title means! It is very good when men can care for children and take an equal part in raising them.
