Are you a collector?

I do collect good books, pictures, and pertinent documents. I like reading a lot that is why I am able to collect books. I preserve the memories of my kids in pictures. I take a shot of them every now and then. And of course, the documents are needed for my properties and other important activities.

I used to collect stamps, match boxes when I was a kid, but now I collect some stamps at random because I don't go and buy new stamps any more. I just collect them from the letters to me, but in fact, I am getting fewer and fewer letters as my friends and I email each other nowadays or just make a call to each other. So it is not easy to collect stamps any more. lol.

I've always been into space travel, so over the past few years I've developed a modest collection of space memorabilia. Just small things like a small piece of metal from a Soyuz capsule, a piece of payload bay liner from the space shuttle Columbia, and similar small items. The most exotic thing I own is a small fragment of lunar meteorite. It's one of those hobbies which can be very expensive or very cheap. I don't have a lot of money, but some items you can pick up for only a few quid. I don't think I've ever spent more than £30 buying something for my collection.

you know, i've gone through many periods of collecting different things. once it was teddy bears, then hearts, then sea shells. i find i have toooooo much stuff around. so, i put it all away except two each. then every couple of months, i switch out. i think i read that makes it more enjoyable to you. you see it .. fresh again. then i became a collage artist. so everything went away and i have a room full of stuff to use on my canvases. i'm a pack rat. i throw nothing away. it will take an army to move me, if i ever do that ! what i hate, the collection ends up owning you.

I collect the Holiday Barbie Dolls that come out each year around the Christmas Season. I have all of them from I think 1986. I love barbie dolls. They are just so beautiful.
