Does synthroid really help your thyroid?

I guess you could call me a health nut, but I have been hearing alot from other people lately that Synthroid actually destroys your thyroid? Has anyone else heard that? If so, what are some natural alternatives?

rosey, Welcome to mylot. I have never heard that synthroid destroys the thyroid. I have been on synthroid for over 31 years. I have not had any adverse reaxions because of this medication.My sister and step-dad are on this medication also, with good results. I do not know of the natural alternatives.
